Eye: Opaque red color, deep red like kinda a ruby with hints of orange in there kinda color. Hard to describe...but for a lager...so the label describes...but wait-the side of the label says "Flavored Ale"...so ale or lager? but still I would expect this to be clear coming from AB-InBev. Head forms, but falls almost immediately leaving none of the pink head that formed when pouring.

Nose: Big Raspberry aroma, kinda like raspberry syrup that you'd use for pancakes. Sweet smelling aroma. Good for cooking if you are looking to make a sweet reduction sauce that tastes of raspberries. Not much beer here, smells more like a Smirnoff deal, or a Lindeman's, really fruity with no beer aroma...and thats ok.

Tongue: Big on the raspberry, more like Lindeman's than anything else. Sugary sweet, and that is about all. Good for a hot afternoon when you are craving sugar or good to go with pancakes or as a reduction sauce. As for drinking I'd liken it to Mike's Hard Lemonade or somesuch. Nothing much of beer here. Tastes more like a malternative. For what it is, it is ok, but it should be under a malternative category....that is what it tastes like. Medium-heavy on the palate...Lots of sugar here to sweeten it up. Carbonation is high to offset that. Overall, for what it is, feels ok on the palate.

Drinkability: If I'm feeling cheap sure I'll buy this again instead of a $25 Framboise liquor. Nothing special though. I've tons of other fruit beers I'd go for over this one...it's cheap and being such is cheap in flavor. But for a reduction sauce and cooking, if it calls for raspberry ale, I think this would do nicely.

Appearance - Pours a clouded pink strawberry color, a soda pop crown on top that does not last long.

Aroma - Raspberry syrup, giving the soda a fresh fruity...oh, this is beer...never mind.

Taste - Budweiser and raspberry syrup. At the Cincy Beerfest a few years ago, I had this left hand milk stout on cask, sitting on Coffee Emporium coffee beans, poured over a scoop of Graeters vanilla bean ice cream. Incredible blend of flavors that the sweetness of the ice cream really worked great with. Looking forward to February and hoping to find that again. If you're in town, check it out!

Back to this review... Sweet raspberry flavor masking a mostly non-descript lager, as designed I suspect. This sweet tooth has no problem dispatching the bottle, but it is alcopop, and an 8% alcopop at that. An odd butteriness at times, but mostly just a lot of sugariness.

Mouthfeel - slick, carbonation is a little muted.

Overall - one and done. I try to limit my alcohol consumption more these days, and this I would consider a poor use of my allotment.

When taking the first sip of this beer it tastes like raspberry juice and you will think oh man for 8% this is pretty delicious, but the aftertaste is like someone spilled their lager into your cup of juice. Drinking more than one of these at a time made me sick because of how sweet it was. I cant safely say that its NOT my type of lager.. or that i even consider it a lager. Its worth a try though, some people enjoy that overly sweet taste. I consider it more of a sugary mixed drink, but that's just my opinion.
