Pours a hazy deep brown color with copper highlights and a 3/4" cream head that dissipates fairly quickly, leaving lines of lacing and a pool of foam across the surface.
Wheat, pepper, and a hint of chocolate comprise the aroma, which is pretty subtle.
The backbone of the flavor profile is wheaty, and a fruity pepper taste is evident throughout. There's a bit of chocolate at the finish, along with a peppery bite. A metallic taste surfaces later.
Body is moderate, with fairly high carbonation and a light peppery, alcohol warmth.
Overall, much more subtle in both flavor and aroma than anticipated. Pepper is not overwhelmingly hot, just noticeable. I've had light mass-produced beers with more flavor...oh, wait...it's AB/InBev.
