A: The beer is crystal clear light amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high off white head that died down, leaving a thin head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of grainy malts are present in the nose along with some hints of caramel and toasted malts.
T: The taste follows the smell, although the caramel and toasted malts flavors are a little bit stronger and lend slight hints of sweetness. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied, clean and a little thin on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer isn't that bad, but definitely tastes like a "light" version of an amber lager and seems like it could use a little more malt. It's very easy to drink.

Bud led a contest of all its brewers, and LA won. The result Black Crown Golden Amber Lager

If you want a bud the way it used to taste when you were a teen, this is your beer.

A Lovely golden amber for lager but a thin head, a little lacing.

S Nice Hop bouquet, light, subtle, and way more than red bud.

T Great tingle and finish. Carbonation medium, but gassy like all Buds.

M More body than reg bud, more alcohol, substantial. Bud Lite NOT.

Food match - great with lemony dishes, flounder and light fishes.

Must try it. If you're a lager drinker, you must try this. Must be tasted blind apparently from the knee jerk low reviews here.,

Pours a amber color with a smaller white head with some lacing. Carbonation was a bit on the heavy side as is most of the Bud beers. Smells of malt and hops. The taste is better than I expected as I am not a regular Bud fan. Overall I would drink it again but as another single here and there.

Served in a tulip glass

a: A shade darker than the average macrobrew- with a light amber tint. A nice generous head makes this one actually look pretty nice
3.5/5

smell: It has that harsh astringent smell you get from AAL's, with a bit of creamed corn and caramel added to it. Not good, but it could be worse...but not by much
Really the smell kinda makes me sick
2/5

Taste: Here we go....and it is...Honnestly pretty good. Wow, that's surprising. This stuff ain't half bad!
It has a decent maltyness to it, with a lot of fruity lagger flavors as well....kinda like a maibock....hummnn..surprising.
for the taste Id have to give this one a surprising...
4/5

Mouthfeel: Harsh, stingey carbiantion. It bites like crazy....but given enough time to fizzle out, it not too bad
but still....that overcarbiantion takes points away from me.

Overall: I have to give this one a 3.5/5. Its not a bad brew by far (not surprised, the brewers at AB are top notch), but it still has a lot of room for improvement...but still....a step in the right direction

the 2ed best macrobrew stuff Ive ever had, right behind Narragansett.

Budweiser Black Crown (2013) - So the story goes-- Bud challenged its 12 brewmasters to come up with a better Bud. 6 beers were made. Taste tests were done. This amber lager was the winner. And so even though I despise Bud in every way possible comes my eventual meeting with Bud's "best"... and it goes like this: Good head upon pour reduces to decent lacing. Highly active carbonation. Straw yellow in color. Decent body for a lager. High alcohol smell revealing its 6% ABV. Under notes of malt and hops. A little citrus. Light mouthfeel. Not bad. A little wet but there is a subtle crispness. Nose is slight hops. Little if any lager skunk. Mid-palate is roasted oats and smoked barely. That alcohol punch right in the back of the mouth as it makes its way to back palate. A little caramel (as promised albeit light in nature) and again some lemon citrus. Malt on the back palate. Slight pine hops. A little more citrus highlighting that. Crisp after taste. That notable Bud drinkablity is there. It's not as watery. Not as wussy fizzy. But arguably it is the Bud of mass produced wanna be micro brewed lagers. Think less hoppy Sam's Lager. More clean Third Shift with a higher ABV. This is a high alcohol beer that is very drinkable. It makes Triple X by Molson look raw and unrefined. But at the same time it is lacking. There is simply something missing. I could be lame and say passion, but I think it's more the taste. It tries to be everything to everyone. And its so inoffensive it almost is offensive. If I had to suggest a beer for the every man this would be it. There is no daring to it. No unknown waters. Nothing bad to be had. But if you are looking for unexpected-- this is not this. This is simply an amazingly drinkable high ABV lager with a nice beechwod Bud finish. Safe. Like a life jacket. Or US bonds. Or driving with Grandma. If that's not your thing-- well you too will be left staring going "I just though there would be more". 3.5 out of 5. Good.
