Just a better bud, more golden / amber / darker in pour. As we await the super bowl commercial. Malty, crisp, fresh, smooth, caramel, floral hops, alcohol (6.0). Very little aroma. Hopefully on sale in grocery store. Minimal after taste, pours into glass well with a noticeable head. Worth a try .

Poured aggressively into a regular pint glass producing a two finger head which slowly dissipates into a foamy top. No lacing. Amber in color and a few bubbles of carbonation. Sweet malty aroma. First sip has a medicinal/herbal taste and a malty finish. Honestly, I can't taste the hops. Are they even in there? The alcohol definitely hits you after one. This beer is good if you want to get hammered, but taste-wise it's like chewing up a cracker and instead of swallowing, letting the pieces dissolve in your mouth. It's doubtful I would ever get this again, but I just wanted to see what "Black Crown" was all about.

Clear gold colored beer with a small yet solid off white head.

Smell is on the sweet side and malty. Hop is herbal and earthy with a slight spiciness to it. There is a slight perfume funk to it like an old cosmetics case smells.

Starts out malty and tasting kind of like Michelob. On the sweet side. Malt syrup and toasted grain. Hop is not real strong just a little noble hop flavor.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall this is just average. Pretty much this is Budweiser re-imagined, the result is more or less a maltier Michelob.

I've tried to resist considering other reviews of this new Budweiser 'craft' beer and take it in myself. I grabbed 2 bottles last night at a local bottle shop.
It looks/smells/tastes like regular Budweiser with the slightest bit of extra smooth-ness in the finish . It comes off as very restrained / austere compared to the multitude of new-world pilseners, lagers and ales that i've been more recently accustomed to .
They are clearly working to not offend/overwhelm the beer palates of the masses. the macro-swill guzzling type. Apparently Black Crown is being marketed at 20-somethings in an upscale way with aggressive advertising of it to begin during super-bowl half-time ads .

not terrible but not outstanding . again, just Budweiser cleaned up, a bit .

This is what Bud Ice should be (minus the price point.)

A: Amber. Large head that quickly dissipates to a ring that lasts the entire glass. Some lacing.

S: Smells like a cheap A-B product: Natty Ice, Bud Light Platinum. To be fair there is some Budweiser in the smell. Sugary sweetness dominates followed by alcohol. Some toasted bread. Some citrus. Creamed corn. The smell of rice found in Budweiser is barely present here.

T: Highly disappointing. Think 85% Bud Light Platinum, 15% Budweiser American Ale. The extra 1% ABV is noticeable and creates a warming all the way into my stomach (and brain.) I can't get over how sugary sweet this is. Every "regular" Budweiser flavor is in there and turned-up a little bit. Sorry if you've never had Budweiser as I don't know how to review the taste on this without relating it to Budweiser.

M: Champagne-like carbonation. With a very aggressive pour carbonation is above average, and without an aggressive pour it borders on ridiculous. I really like carbonation in my beers, but this is over the top.

O: I really enjoy Budweiser. Budweiser American Ale seemed like a genuine attempt to step outside the box for A-B. Black Crown seems like an attempt to just sell more beer by finding a few (million) people that like this unique taste. Like Bud Light Platinum, I'll have no desire to buy this again. Even crappy Bud Ice is better than this. I sincerely hope that A-B will one day use its massive resources to brew a truly wonderful version of Budweiser.

First off I am a Budweiser Drinker. I usually Drink Regular bud Canned. This beer is the "winner" of brewmaster's project twelve. I wish they would have gone with the vanilla cask ale myself.... On to the beer: Dark golden color (for bud) Noticeably not much of a head and no lacing. it's not offensive but I was expecting so much more for the "Black Crown" It does hide the 6.0% ABV well. at $6/6 pack it's a decent brew

A: Poured a dark gold color had a very small whitish head with no lacing

S: Some bread a bit of hoppiness strong corn and rice scents

T: Drinkable and similar to the smell it still has strong rice and corn notes and a slight bud platinum sweetness

M:One of the better aspects bubbly but not over done with a medium body and pretty smooth

O: this beer is ok if it were to replace regular bud i would be fine with that but as a competitor to high end beers or micro brews it does not fair as well. at the same price, at least in my area, as beers that are of much better quality i dont see much of an incentive to buy this again

The beer pours a light amber to dark golden in color. There is a large white head that disappears quickly. The aroma is toasted malt, lightly burnt bread crumbs, slightly sweet with a light grassiness on the end. The taste follows the aromas, quite toasted, lightly sweet, with a grassy and lightly bitter finish. There is an unpleasant overcooked brussell spout note that permeates the entire thing.

Budweiser Black Crown (poured into a whiskey glass) has a thin, off-white head, little or no lacing, and a clear, golden, bubbly appearance. The aroma is very strange because it’s so fruity. Taste is the same with the odd fruitiness (although, I know it’s not a flavored beer), barley malt, rice, sweetness, and mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Budweiser Black Crown finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and drinkable. Overall, this is another winner from InBev, and I really like it!

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a standard pint glass,
Clear copper in color, with a decent head of bone-white foam.
Aroma-Faint toasted malt
Taste-Slight caramel note, faint toasted malt, smooth, clean finish, light-bodied. Not too bad. A step up in flavor and body from regular Bud. A little step in the "craft" direction.

12oz sample bottle poured into a plastic cup at work

A: An amber-yellow color. Bubbly. No head

S: Bread, yeast, mild hops. I smell something sweet as well

T: Same bread, yeast taste in most lagers. There is something sweet that I taste in the background but I can't make it out. Maybe cherry.

M: Medium body, bubbly but smooth.

Overall: It's decent. For an AAL, it's pretty good. Not something I will drink though as it doesn't really have any taste to me haha.

A -Pours crystal clear golden with a good amount of carbonation. Nice head that disappears quickly.

S- Smells like corn and sugar. A bit of biscuits and caramel malt. I can detect faint amounts of hops. Some orange and citrus notes. Smells like a Budweiser.

T- Tastes like Bud platinum with a bit more malt back and is pretty sweet. Probably the best Budweiser product out there. Definitely drinkable.

M- Carbonated properly, nice and balanced. Higher alcohol than a budweiser and more body than a bud light.

O- Typical Bud product but enjoyable. I was expecting a bit more as I thought they would want to jump on board with the "craft brew" movement.

Comes in a 220z Black Bottle poured in a pint glass.

Its says its a Golden Amber Lager.

A -Nice 2 inch head that dissipates quickly. Nice Golden color.

S- Smells like Roasted barley, kinda like Bud.

T- I don't know if my palate isn't just that good but This taste like Bud with a kick.

M- Watery, thin no body. Just awful.

O- Cool bottle was only $2 but its Bud, surprised I even bought it.
