In my mind, what a terrific lager and hops are all about; creating that subtle but present bitterness and finishing with a refreshing smoothness. Almost forgot this was Budweiser's beer; much more pleasant and palatable than the beers that overuse the hell out of hops to create a beer that's unpleasantly bitter. Really was shocked by this.

From BeerAdvocate Magazine #83 (Dec 2013):
The best that we have seen passed through the wringer as of late from AB, but the lack of any real body or even a hint of rawness makes this just another attempt at being “crafty.” That said, it is not half bad. If we had a choice between this and a mediocre “craft beer,” we’d opt for this.
STYLE: India Pale Lager
ABV: 5.5%
AVAILABILITY: Rotating
LOOK: Perfect clarity, pale golden hue, lovely froth
SMELL: Orangey hop, floral, herbal, exotic fruit, grainy, clean
TASTE: Tight crispness, thin bodied, grainy, mild oily hop, wet, clean, flour, dried hay, orange zest, wildflowers, hint of alcohol warmth, drying finish, faded hop aftertaste

Malt & bread profile but still a boring series.

Clear deep gold with two fingers of white head that fades rather quickly. Very minor lacing.
Smell is mild bready malt. Taste is lightly sweet bready malts with a touch of bitter hops at the end. Slightly boozy. Mouthfeel is thin with low carbonation. Overall a bit of a letdown. If my calculations are correct this beer is at least seven months old so take that into account.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a shaker pint glass.
APPEARANCE: pours clear and golden with one finger head that dissipated quickly into a thin broken layer of small bubbles, lightly carbonated, very little lacing.
SMELL: flowers and citrus, somewhat assertive.
TASTE: initially sweet with citrus and then a pleasantly mild hop profile and finishes clean and crisp.
PALATE: medium body and lightly carbonated.
OVERALL: Anheuser-Busch is trying to enter the "craft beer" market. Good for them. This is probably the best beer I've had from this brewer. I hope they continue on this path.
