3.2% abv by weight as listed on the label that may come out to 2.5% abv let me check my math. Appears a glowing orange hue in the glass, bright white head stays pretty resilient with high carbonation I'm guessing this is marketed toward bicyclists and women in Germany. Aroma has straight up sugared grapefruit peel notes, just like slicing into a grapefruit in the AM for the breakfast option sprinkled with some sugar to make it more palatable. Flavor sugar coated grapefruit soda with really pith and peel notes coming out definitely dries out as the sweetness fades with the bitterness from the rind, pith, and peel of actual grapefruits probably harmed in the making of this beer. Good thing I popped a Prilosec earlier and I've noticed that I started a regimen of proton pump inhibitors in the last few weeks. Citric notes kill in this beer it's a mimosa bottled up with grapefruit zest character throughout even the essential oils were bottled in this beer. Enough sugar was added but this is definite real grapefruit juice and others parts added, mouthfeel brings sturdy carbonation a tart citric juice finish with the zest adding to the balance. Overall well done not as wretched as I would expect from such a beer, but I'm good for one and done not much of a session ale or you'll be puking grapefruit zest out your nares just do to the actual sugar content added to this Grapefruit hefeweizen from Schofferhofer!

.33L clear bottle with a BB date of 9/2015.
Unusual appearance, but does look like a hefeweizen with grapefruit juice.
The smell is largely citrus rind and grapefruit juice, but there's a nice mix of hefeweizen with grapefruit juice in the flavor.
Refreshing; exceptionally fruity; lightly sweet.

This one looks like grapefruit juice, a heavily thick red-orange. It doesn't from a whole lot of head, but it does put up some, and the foam that's left for the remainder is strong. Some sturdy patching as well as spotting are left behind.
This beer definitely brings the grapefruit advertised. It's a very interesting take on a hefe, and in an possibly American-inspired turn, the only flavored one I've ever seen. The grapefruit is the dominant force, but the telltale signs of hefeweizen are here: a touch of banana, some dustiness in the malts, a bit of soft clove, and maybe just a faint, very faint, ghost of some bubble gum-like sweetness. Wheat makes itself known as the backbone, and the finish is of some dry, crackery malts and slight ruby red sourness.
The feel isn't as thick or heavy as it seems it might be, but it doesn't have the slight, subtle depth typical to the best of the style. Still, it's light enough and has a nice, sturdy crispness with enough body that's it's not simply a soda.

Very sweet, doesn't taste like beer. Reminds me of sparkling juice. Definite grapefruit flavor. Not bad for a sunny day at the beach or at the park. Very low alcohol level, so can drink quite a few. I like it, even though I'm pretty sure some of the beer purists will not.

330ml bottle...a beer/fruit juice mix is just what I need after my last dalliance - an 18.5% barrel-aged barleywine - a palate cleanser, as it were. Strange that this isn't classified as a fruit beer, eh?

This beer (mix) pours a cloudy, yet bright medium golden amber hue, with one fat finger of loosely foamy and bubbly dirty white head, which leaves essentially nothing in the way of lace around the glass as it quickly recedes.

It smells of mild wheat malt, somewhat spicy yeast, and zesty, almost overpowering sharp red grapefruit juice. The taste is sweet, sugary, and grainy wheat malt, a more subdued yeastiness, a bit of white pepper, and yes, big pithy and juicy grapefruit flesh, full stop.

The carbonation is moderate, just a meek, trilling frothiness emanating throughout, the body on the light side, and smoothly fruity in a clean acidic manner. It finishes off-dry, the fruit and scaled back wheat malt still the stars of the show, the only drying offset coming from the grapefruit's inherent tartness.

While this mostly reminds me of Italian soda, it's nice that there's some evident traits from the underlying Hefe, even if they are soaked in a sugary and fruity film. Beyond that, we're talking adulterated beer, albeit with one of my favourite juices, so I'm just gonna have to say that this hits the spot, and would anywhere it is too hot/Checkstopped/overserved.

Poured from 500mL can into a pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a slightly pinkish medium golden color, and a good opaque wheaty consistency typical of a good weizen beer. It leaves a nice creamy two finger white foam head that stick with it throughout. Leaves a nice sticky lacing as the drink recedes with sips.

Smell: Has a nice sweet wheat and fresh grapefruit aroma. Very summery and welcoming.

Taste: Just like it smells, a nice sweet graprefruit juice and sweet wheaty hefeweizen mix. The grapefruit is more prominent, but not overwhelming. Very refreshing and a perfect summer beer out of the tall can for summer outings.

Mouthfeel: Slick and creamy, like a good hefeweizen.

Overall: This is a different beer and not for everyone, for sure. But if you like Radlers or fruit beers, this is one of the better ones out there. I happen to love hefeweizens and grapefruit, so this is a win-win for me. Love this stuff, and will buy more throughout the summer for sure.
