Looked and smelled good, but a little lacking in the flavor and body departments. Poured with a nice, large, white, thick, foamy, frothy head and some lace. Color is a clear yellow. Aroma is standard Bavarian weiss- malt, bananas, spices, bit of lemon. Flavor is where it gets a little shallow and has a bit of a metallic component. Body is good and carbonatioin is ok. Finish is like favor. Nothing too special here.

500ml. bottle in Mae Kasa, Thailand. Pours a clear golden colour with a firm white head. Mild aroma of wheat, some citrus. Tastes of malt, wheat, sweetness. O.k. but uninspiring.

Every now and then I feel the need to try something that isn’t a Windhoek Draught. This isn’t worth the food miles. To be fair, it isn’t a style I like.

May 2015: 500 ml bottle, from CITTI-Markt Flensburg. ABV is 5.0%. BB date 03.14. Golden colour, moderate white head. Fairly fresh aroma, moderate notes of banana and cloves. The flavour is quite dry and refreshing, only very moderate notes of banana and cloves, the hops are more distinct than in most weissbiers.

Had this back to back with their regular hefe, in Frankfurt, and the cristal is not much different, crisper mouthfeel and less esters, same seltzer-like minerality, quenching if not to though-provoking as far as hefes go...

500ml bottle poured into a weizen glass.
Crystal clear bright gold in color with lots of risen carbonation, it tops with very thick fluffy white head that very well retains with very good retention before slowly sinking to a lasting foamy layer atop and leaving some lacing on the glass-side.
Clean malt aroma of white bread, honey biscuit, dough, and cereal grain, it is as well floral, mild banana, mild fruity, citrus, and some clove spice.
The taste is led by fruity characters of citrus zest then some sweet banana like a banana bread. Malt is there as a solid foundation with its bread, honey biscuit, dough, and cereal grain. There is some crisp of clove spice drawing in.
Medium body with creamy smooth mouthfeel and rather lively carbonation, the feeling is crisp and refreshing with a dry and rather clean finish.
Light and clean as it should be but somehow a bit lacking of the weizen yeast character, still decent anyway.
