Not bad. A bit watery but fruity with bananas and herbal flavors. Grey, long lasting foam head. Medium to high carbonated. Nice color and crushable in summer.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a dark orange/red with about an inch of off-white head. The nose is wheat grass, orange, a metallic note, stone fruit. The taste is nice and light. Again, orange, wheat, an herbal spice, a bit of honey. Good beer.

500 ml bottle, in Berlin. Hazy brown colour, moderate head. Moderate caramel and banana aroma. Bready and moderately malty flavour with faint hints of caramel, bananas and cloves. Relatively dry. Short aftertaste.

Binding-Brauerei AG "Schöfferhofer Dunkles Hefeweizen"
on tap
Notes: Cloudy, tawny brown body beneath a full head of creamy off-white foam that holds exceptionally well and leaves some very nice lacing behind. Caramelish, wheaty malt and soft apple dominate the aroma with only subtle hints of banana and a gentle clove-like spice in the background. Medium bodied. Initially crisp and then smoother across the palate due to its very fine, gently effervescent carbonation. The flavor delivers the caramelish and wheaty malt promised in the aroma with a bit of added roastiness and some soft milk chocolate. It's very well-balanced by a soft bitterness, and it finishes dry with a short note of fruity yeast. It's not as richly malty as many others, and it's weizen yeast character is quite restrained, although that's fairly common. Almost as if a dunkle was blended with a weizen rather than being brewed as a whole. Basic, refreshing, and easy to drink.
