Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with nice black chocolate notes and some cocoa is pleasant. Taste is also dominated by semi-sweet black chocolate notes with some light dry roasted malt notes and some cocoa notes re also identifiable. Body is full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not as dry or bitter as some other example of the style and somewhat lacking in compelxity but still really enjoyable.

Gigantic Brewing Co. 'Most Premium Russian Imperial Stout' @ 10.0% , served from a couple of 650 ml bottle's purchased for $8.15 each
A-pour is a dark cola brown from the bottle to near black in the glass with a hint of ruby red peeking thru a thin small tan head leaving a minimal lace ring
S-ripe cherries , booze
T-somewhat smoother than Hornbeer - Fundamental Blackhorn , still a lot of smokeyness
MF-ok/good carbonation , full bodied
Ov-ok/good beer , decent 'RIS' , no wow factor

Very dark brown color in the tumbler. Not so much foam but pleasantly sizzly in the mouth. Appealing warm, winey, roasted aroma.
Totally malty with a big mouthful of sweet dark roasted malt. More caramelly and less burnt than a lot of big stouts. A great RIS flavor, though it lacks a little in the cream-filled mouthfeel. Hints of licorice and coffee. Really richly roasted taste without any of the charcoal sourish note. It's like a bitter chocolate See's candy with a caramel center.
A pleasant dark strong brew with plenty of flavor, but not much competition in the category. From the 22 oz bottle bought at La Bodega Wines & Spirits in Riverside for nine bucks. Most totally excellent label-- one of my favorites ever.

Appearance- Pours up a decent amount of head that has okay retention. The head is a very dark beige/mocha color. So dark in fact that it has hints of purple. The head is a opaque, dark chocolate black. There are a couple spots of “lacing”.
Nose- Good presence and integration but lacks presence. Huge roasted notes. A hint of coffee. A base of chocolate. Not much else. Swirling doesn't add to this picture. Adequate but not interesting.
Taste- Very sweet on the front and the sweetness extends to the middle and even to the finish. The sweetness arises from the deep roasted notes and coffee which quickly turn to a sweet/sour combo that I get from lesser nuanced roasted malts. Almost vinous with hints of sour raisins. Some chocolate. There is a good amount of bitterness on the finish but it really doesn't work to counteract the cloying sweetness of the malts. I would definitely take better integration and balance over the glut of somewhat obnoxious presence this beer has. It does mellow to some extent and becomes a more accessible beer but the syrupy sweetness still lingers in the background. Pretty much an above average beer (not good) but average for a RIS.
Mouthfeel- Between medium bodied and heavy bodied. A bit too much zing from the carbonation and very gritty. This seems unfiltered- that's how gritty it is. Usually I like a little grit but this is too much.
Drinkability- The sweetness does mellow but it does continue to nag. No discernible heat is a plus. The price is not. Why would I pay 8 bucks when I could Stone for cheaper? Why?!?!
Overall- Above average. It squeaks by, in my opinion, because it is an okay rendition of one of my favorite styles. Worth a try but if the price tag bothers you, get something else!
