Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a thin white head that dissipates to patches and a thin ring around the glass; light slippery lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt, tea and mild citrus and floral hops. Flavor follows aroma; biscuit, mildly toasty malt forward with grassy, mildly citrus hops. Light to medium bodied with peppery carbonation. An interesting and quite drinkable mash-up of ESB style malts and more American oriented hops, although the hop bitterness level is similar to a bitter. Fairly faithful, but nicely balanced in its own way. A nice sessionable English style ale.

22 oz bomber bought from Trader JOe in Salem. $4.99 Its a light amber clear coloured ale with a nice sized frothy slightly off white head. Mostly malty aromas but some lemon zest style hop aromas show. Pleasant Very balanced beer in style with the English style malts beating out ( just) the zestful American hops. Good mouth feel carbonated low and well for style very drinkable. Good unusual beer ( for the PNW)..enjoyed .

Bottle opened on 1.15.14

A - Pours a hazy amber-orange with a small tan head that fades slowly.

S - Malty, toast, oranges.

T - Bready malt, then a bitter grassy hop finish.

D - Lower carbonation with a medium body.

O - Ok, malty and bitter. Not my first two choices for a good beer.

This stuff is sweet and nutty in the best way. Crisp and watery body that is totally refreshing.

I taste walnuts and a touch of pecans. Mild bitter malty flavor with a zingy tang. A touch of butterscotch. Hugely fragrant as you sip. Dries out with some yeasty flavor. Dark rye bread notes. Pleasant bitter finish.

This may have more hops than the English style but it's in a galaxy of its own with sensational flavor and dominating drinkability. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Bine & Vine in San Diego.

Poured the Bonber into my tankard , beer was 40-45 degrees.

This beer pours an amber color with a moderate wispy head that had surprising retention down the side of my glass, overall though I felt the color to be slightly dark for the style, however this color led to a surprising level of complexity from the malt body. At first what seems as a crystal malt bomb has more depth than that which contributes to the better than average mouthfeel even though the beer is only moderately carbonated. Fruity, slightly sappy malts marry some strong bitterness in the hops, which makes this beer seem to be bordering on ESB territory, anyway this beer was a top notch Gigantic Brew.

Bottle into shaker.

Pours a light amber with fluffy, eggshell white head that settles to soapy froth.

Aroma is caramel, nutty English malts, faint clove, sweet bread, and ever so light floral and citrus notes.

Taste is an almost exact interpretation of the nose. Very English bitter like, with some earthy and spruce like hop bitterness. Easy drinking, smooth.

Body is light with a nice English pale light carbonation detail and creamy finish.

Overall a tasty American interpretation of an English pale/bitter. Expected more American influence bur this shows little Yankee character.
