A doppelbock emblackened. Perfect for midnight masses, dancing naked in the moonlight, and malevolent altars. Turn up the sons of Huns, toast the dark. Now turn and kiss the goat!

First beer I had that suggested music to go with, went well, nice job. A tasty black ale , but nothing to exciting. Not to heavy at all, a six pack in the moonlight would be cool

Dark with some tan lacing. Bottle says "best after" but I didn't see it until I had opened it. Smells like a bock, malty. Taste is good with some cracker notes and a creamy mouthfeel. The bottle art is weird, but give this beer a try. I'd like to get another and cellar it.

Poured into a lager glass, the appearance had a nice murky semi-dark brown color with some lighter hues of a lighter brown - almost red color with a finger and a half's worth of white foamy head. That slid off stealthily to leave some messy sliding lace.
The aroma had a wonderful meshing of sweet dark chocolate, German earthy sweet bready with appropriate yeasty tones and a sly earthy spice sliding in underneath.
The flavor modestly leaned towards the sweet bready to yeasty side with some dark chocolate, slight cocoa powder, dried dark toast and sweet earth. Nice subtle aftertaste of dried dark toast, dark chocolate, and German yeastiness.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair in between sort of quality of being sessionable and being a sipper. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt as promised by the brewer. Nice smooth dark chocolatey/cocoa powder dry finish with a touch of toast.
Overall, what a wonderful doppelbock! Loved everything about it when I first had it last Spring and loved everything about it with this second bottle.

Deep, dark brown body; thick, dense and creamy head. Light scent of roasted and charred grain. Mildly sweet chocolate flavor; some deep tones of caramel; some hop bitterness. Medium body; smooth and velvety; some alcohol heat.
The beer reminds me more of a Cascadian dark ale than a doppelbock, but it does have a lager smoothness and delivers some fine dark malt flavors.
