Pours amber with slight tones of orange and a slight haze. 2 finger off white head that has great retention.

Nose has some earthy and spicey hop notes alone with citrus, mainly orange, character. There is also a nice sized grainy malt backbone. Some floral hops come out as it warms.

There is a decent piney hop precence at the start and is followed by a moderate bitterness and grainy malt. Mild orange can be detected on the exhale.

Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated with a medium body

Appearance: Deep gold/amber color. Small, compact head that leaves tight lacing. Clarity could be improved. [3.75]

Aroma: Wide range of hop types: citrus, herbal/grassy. No floral. Malt subdued. A little bit one-dimensional at least as far as West Coast IPAs are concerned. [3.25]

Flavor: Medium bitterness for the style. Citrus smacks upfront. Predominant lemon/grass/herbal flavor. [3]

Mouthfeel: Almost creamy with a resiny finish. Lingers pleasantly. Not sessionable, but that's okay. This is a strength for this beer [4.75]

Overall: Love the feel and the beer is good overall. Slightly one-dimensional. I would recommend trying on tap, maybe not worth the bomber price. [3.50]

Served from the bottle into a nonic glass.

A- Poured a clear orange color with fluffy off-white head that left dense webbed lacing.

S- Big piney, floral, citrusy, and sweet malt notes. Smells very clean and pretty fresh.

T- A very balanced flavor profile between piney, floral, and citrusy hops with a sweet malt backbone. This beer finishes with a lot of hop bitterness but the hop character is not as flavorful and strong as in many other IPAs.

M- Remarkably creamy for an IPA, very smooth medium body, and soft carbonation.

O- A really nice IPA with a good hop bite and really smooth mouthfeel.

Bottle I brought to share on the beer bus to San Diego.

Pours a hazy orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, and herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest and herbal flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a solid hop profile that makes it easy to drink.

I bought a bottle of Gigantic IPA in a bottle shop. Poured in to a pint glass.

Pours a rich gold color, clear, with a modest white head.

Smell is a sweet bread aroma, with just a hint of a fruity citrus scent.

Taste is a caramel malt flavor that never completely gives way to the citrus and pine flavors of a typical IPA. The flavor remains very candy-like all the way through.

Mouthfeel has some body to it, slightly cloying with the caramel and bitters aftertaste.

A drinkable IPA, if not a but on the heavy side. I'd have it again, especially in the fall or winter seasons.

22oz bomber served in imperial pint glass. Poured carefully to avoid disturbing what looks like significant sediment on this one. Beer pours as a big hazy orange with a very thin white head and big bubbles rapidly rising towards the surface. Huge citrus aroma of orange and grapefruit. NW-style IPA C-hops anyone? Flavor is similarly hop-forward and bitter. More citrus on the tongue with notes of grass. Tartness is accentuated by the relatively heavy carbonation. Finish is on the drier side, but there's obviously some malt here.

A very average example of NW IPA. Showcases centennial hops and fizz. Fine enough to drink, but wouldn't seek out again.

A - pours a slightly hazy orange with a standard head. Some lace. No bubbles.

S - hops: big citrus, mild spice, mild pine, hint of floral. Mild malt bill with a judicious use of caramel. Neutral yeast.

T - mimics the aroma. Centennial citrus forward with a soft, spicy hop finish. Mild sweetness. The hops provide more flavor than bitterness. I like bitter beers, but they don't need to be bitter to be enjoyable. This beer delivers juicy hop flavor minus the bitterness.

M - medium body. Creamy. Medium and pleasant bitterness with a short sustain.

O - there are so many great IPAs on the market. This one isn't super extreme, but it's far from weak and it does a very nice job of being hoppy, highly aromatic and flavorful without assaulting your senses with 200+ibu. The $5.99 bomber price was a STEAL compared to my local $8-$12 prima donnas and frankly, this is a better beer anyway. Hellooo Gigantic. Welcome to IL!
