A: hazy dark golden colored with lacing to boot.

S: not anything that will knock your boots off but light lemon with a touch of malt.

T: west coast ipa most def. but with a nuanced, sophisticated feel. I love the fact it ends cleanly minus a sweet overkill. they do the bitterness just right snd im not sure whats the ibus. Virgin gigantic taster and id love to sample their other offerings.

M: nice carbonation and not too sticky mouthfeel.

O: lighter, lemony rind IPA which i dig. change of pace. the finish and mouthfeel are quite nice and i hope SF sees more of Gigantic Brew Co.

Poured one finger on a medium straw colored body.
The aroma is bright mandarin and orange.
The taste is a solid big lemon bitterness with some honey sweetness in the background. Makes a balance and tasty beer.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
A wonderful drink.

Poured into a tulip glass from a 22oz bottle.

Pours a nice slightly;y clear and bright coper and light amber color. There is a nice 1 inch head that is off-white and pretty dense and creamy. The retention is pretty nice and sticks to the glass really well as the brew goes down. Leaving some nice thick lacing along the sides of the glass.

Aroma starts off with some slightly sweet hop juice notes. Some mild mango and tropical fruit notes and some coconut even. Then there is some nice slight citrusy notes that include some nice orange rind. Slight malty and caramel notes balance things out. Seems like a nice approachable IPA.

Flavor starts off light yet delicious and flavorful. Starts off with those slight tropical notes and then a nice citrusy rind flavor. There is some nice bitterness but it is tame and doesn't destroy the palette. Very nice notes of bready malt balance things out and make the beer very drinkable. Mouthfeel is light and crisp.

Overall nice citrusy notes that give the brew some good bitterness and also some mild resinous pine. Very drinkable and delicious IPA that shines and doesn't overwhelm allowing all the flavors to be appreciated. Nice slight malty finish.

A: Pours from a bomber, hazy orange with a 1/2" off-white head which leaves clumps, and splotches of lace.

N: Fresh citrus (grapefruit) pith and zest, floral, minty.

T: Citrus with pine. Resiny and herbal. Some mild malt sweetness for balance. Slightly vegetal and catty.

M: Moderate body and medium carbonation. Softness and creamy for an IPA. Dry, bitter and sticky finish.

O: Easy drinking, and enjoyable.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a Ska Brewing pint glass. No freshness that I could see, but my bottle shop had just got it in, so would think under a month old coming from Portland?

A - Dark gold with orange highlights. Eggshell head leaves good lacing.

S - Grass, faint orange, peach, grapefruit. Pretty faint.

T - Lots of orange (dominate), peach, grapefruit. Grassy taste on the end. Very low bitterness. Has "burnt tire" on the finish (not enjoyable), but it is also faint, so doesn't ruin it.

M - Nice mouthfeel. Medium, creamy mouthfeel. Medium carbonation.

O - A pretty standard IPA, nothing special here, but nothing really bad either. With so many "shelf" IPAs in SoCal, I probably won't be revisiting this.

22oz Bomber
$5.99
Binny's, Bolingbrook

I passed this bottle up a few times at the store and just picked one up yesterday. Here she goes...
Gigantic's IPA glugs from the bottle sporting a hazy, tarnished brass body with a creamy antique white head atop that likes to leave behind big sticky drink lines. Ample carbonation runs to the surface.

Orange, candied citrus rind, and some tea leaf hoppiness are front and center. I fear this beer may be a bit past it's prime with the tea leaf quality creeping in. Biscuity malt and a mild touch of alcohol bring up the rear.

A biscuit maltiness provides a base with a touch of caramel but the real profile is based on juicy hoppiness. Big orange upfront with the candied citrus following up. There's still a touch of tea leaf. This is a tasty IPA but rather simple.

Medium bodies with a sluggish carbonation allows this beer to move at it's own pace. Mild bitterness on the tongue but mild sweetness remains on the swallow.

Gigantic's IPA is a solid offering but there are so many great IPAs out there I don't see myself picking this guy up to often. I probably will give it another whirl in the future though.

Pours amber with slight tones of orange and a slight haze. 2 finger off white head that has great retention.

Nose has some earthy and spicey hop notes alone with citrus, mainly orange, character. There is also a nice sized grainy malt backbone. Some floral hops come out as it warms.

There is a decent piney hop precence at the start and is followed by a moderate bitterness and grainy malt. Mild orange can be detected on the exhale.

Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated with a medium body

Appearance: Deep gold/amber color. Small, compact head that leaves tight lacing. Clarity could be improved. [3.75]

Aroma: Wide range of hop types: citrus, herbal/grassy. No floral. Malt subdued. A little bit one-dimensional at least as far as West Coast IPAs are concerned. [3.25]

Flavor: Medium bitterness for the style. Citrus smacks upfront. Predominant lemon/grass/herbal flavor. [3]

Mouthfeel: Almost creamy with a resiny finish. Lingers pleasantly. Not sessionable, but that's okay. This is a strength for this beer [4.75]

Overall: Love the feel and the beer is good overall. Slightly one-dimensional. I would recommend trying on tap, maybe not worth the bomber price. [3.50]

Served from the bottle into a nonic glass.

A- Poured a clear orange color with fluffy off-white head that left dense webbed lacing.

S- Big piney, floral, citrusy, and sweet malt notes. Smells very clean and pretty fresh.

T- A very balanced flavor profile between piney, floral, and citrusy hops with a sweet malt backbone. This beer finishes with a lot of hop bitterness but the hop character is not as flavorful and strong as in many other IPAs.

M- Remarkably creamy for an IPA, very smooth medium body, and soft carbonation.

O- A really nice IPA with a good hop bite and really smooth mouthfeel.
