Poured on tap at the brewpub into a snifter glass.

A real gorgeous colored crystal clear body. Deep copper brown, with excellent clarity. Faint tan collar presented, and some bubbly creamy character. Very good looker.

Solid bouquet and quite different. Mellow tartness and a mix of faint toffee, and very complimenting sweet cinnamon. Hints at chewy winter warmer like clove and cherry spice warmth, and clove controlled heat. Very interesting if a little odd.

First sip brings an unexpected interesting surprise and take. Big toast brown ale like notes of bread dark crust, with a viscous body. Mild tartness with some real nice bouncing complimentary flavors. Red wine vinegars and matching brown sugars, with a nice toasty pop on the finish. Slightly wet but workable and not detracting or weakening the flavors.

A real nice take on the style that pulls off, very interesting and enjoyable.

From the source, 2015.

A- Dusty red and brown body out of the lines into a snifter. Light tan head to a finger dying to a small ring leaving several sheets of lace.

S- Funky and fruity. Has some definite lacto and Brett funky fermentation products as well as a huge dose of vinous oak and grapes. Did I mention grapes.

T- Pinot wine grapes with a light sweetness off the top dive into a bouquet of Brett and lacto complexity. A balance of wet medium toast oak, dark vinous grape fruit and stems, obvious red wine, apple (the good kind), barn straw, yeast spice phenols, dirty fruity earthiness, jam berries and a hint of vinaigrette.

MF- Light bodied with a battle between the drying bugs and the sweet grapes finding a balanced medium. Moderate level of carbonation and a light tartness throughout.

I usually find that many brewers get almost trapped trying to use such strong barrels of wine but this just flat out works. Lots of grapes countered by the Brett and what might be a hit of Lacto. Fruity and funky.

Had from the source. Notably this is my first sour review. Almost a deep cherry appearance. Classic tart smell, definitely getting the pinot noir from the taste. Very smooth and not overly "puckering", great for those who aren't huge sour fans but still excellent.

This seems to have improved in the bottle compared to when I had it on tap months ago. Aromas of tart and funky oak, dripping in cherries. Taste is heavier on Brett and oak, again with a rather deep cherry flavor. This is what I'm talking about, dude.
