Now if you are over are Kroghs, you have to make a stop in here on your way out. This is really the only place in town to get anything decent to bring home or out fishing for that matter. Real small place tucked into the strip mall, they make the most of what they have. You can find pretty much all the sixers of the major northeast brews, a few bombers, but not too much. Loved the smuttynose and Ramstein. Prices were ok, if not a bit high, but there is really nowhere else to go. Did find a six of Bigfoot from 2006 laying in the back, so there is the occasional score. Overall though not a bad stop if you are in the area, I would not drive an hour to get here though. But if you are up here, you should stop in, its worth a few minutes inside..

I too found this place after going to Krogh's. It's not very big inside, but the staff is very friendly and the selection is better than what you would expect for such a small place. I agree with another reviewer that the storage of the 750's is in a bad spot, but you can also find some rarer stuff hidden away too. If you are in town I would check it out.

I was Over at the Krogh's Restaurant And Brewpub
which is just down the road. This place as a small building, but packs a lot of wine, licquor and beer in to the place. All of the 12 oz. containers are sold as six-pack, but they do have some 22 oz. and 750 ml bottles. I almost missed the 22 oz. and 750 ml bottles because the bottles were being stored on top of the cooler. One bad thing about the storage of the bottles was they were right next to floresent light in the celing. So far it is the best place that I have found in New Jersey, which is not saying too much. If you are in Sparta, it is worth a stop, but is not worth to much of a drive.

White Deer Liquor Store- located just a block down from Krogh's.

Walked in here after; eating lunch at Krogh's, walking along the lake, and stopping by my families lake house.
They have a decent selection of 6ers. Smutty nose, victory, SN, SA, Weyerbacher's double simcoe, etc... Big bombers of Arrogant Bastard, Ommegang, Choffue sit atop the fridges. Bought a 12 pack of Oskar Blues Pale Ale and paid $17 and change, a little pricey. The guy behind the counter was friendly and asked if I needed help.

If your visiting Lake Mohawk, stop in here for a 6er. You won't find anything rare but you'll find something good.

Great little packy tucked away in the beautiful plaza of Lake Mohawk in Sparta. Standard selection of all the crap beer obviously, but also a decent amount of great brews hide out here as well. Extensive, but not complete, line of Samuel Smith, Magic Hat, Long Trail, and Victory, just to name a few. Also carries larger bottles as well of some top shelf beers. Service is good...some very helpful and colorful characters work within. Ha ha....great guys. Right down the street from Krogh's, so there is lots of good beer to be had right in the plaza.

for such a small store, there is a pretty good selection. the building itself is a national historic site. it is extremely cool with the works. slate roof and all. the service is excellent. i work there for crying outloud. how much better can it get. really though, we are very nice and good to deal with. as far as the selection goes, we have a bunch of bottle conditioned beers, and a good mix of odd ball stuff. plus, we will special order whatever we can get. most of the beers i have reviewed come from the store, so you can see what a small place can cram in there.

The White Deer will usually stock a new brew every 2 weeks or so. A few cases will be ordered, and if they can sell them, more will be ordered. I will have to say that I have recommended a few brews to the owners, and they have gotten them for me. Even though they may not sell well, they will stock them. It seems, however, that a few beer drinkers will stop in and purchase the new brews we stock.
