Neshaminy Creek County Line IPA
12 oz. can
$1.99 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Appearance: Very, very hazy orange amber body beneath a creamy head of off-white that drops steadily to a thin but full surface covering, leaving behind some fairly impressive lace.

Aroma: Citrus and bready malt combine with some resin and pine. I'm not sure what it is that makes it this way, but it comes off almost like an old grapefruit.

Flavor: Far more aggressive than the aroma suggests. Nicely balanced blend of malt and hop flavors rather than just hops dancing across a thin layer of biscuit. Apricot comes into the hop mix, and pine seems to dominate the citrus (at least to start with). There's also a tropical fruit thing happening (pineapple, papaya, soft mango) which takes it away from your usual "citrus-pine" IPA profile. Solidly bitter. Dry finish as might be expected, and a little harsh in fact, with some resinous hop character lingering a little too strong for a little too long.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate carbonation that leaves it gently crisp and then smooth across the palate.

Overall: The 5 hops chosen for this IPA work well together, but at the same time they seem a bit muddled. There's a little bit of everything everywhere, but not enough of just one or two things to give it a focal point. At least it's unique.

Quite frankly one of the worst beers I've ever had the misfortune of drinking. It looked nice after the pour and went downhill immediately after that. Tasted awful, just flat out awful, to the point that it almost hurt my tongue and throat to drink it.
