A deep black pour with 2 fingers if tan head which dissipated into a long lasting 1/4" head, bits o creamy lacing. Smells awesome.. Sweet brown sugar/molasses, milk chocolate, oats, toasted grains, vanilla.
The flavor is a delicious array of sweet flavors with a subtle roast and a boozy kick. Vanilla, brown sugar, chocolate, almost a cookie dough like taste. Full body with medium carbonation makes for a smooth drink.. The alcohol is pretty subtle for being 11.6%... Yikes
This beer is absolutely awesome. Tasty beyond belief, high in abv, and at $10 is a hell of a deal compared to some of the overpriced bombers of soy sauce I've had the displeasure of tasting in the last few years.

Leon is Neshaminy Creek's Imperial S'mores Stout brewed with marshmallow fluff, bittersweet bakers chocolate and graham crackers.

Poured into a Chimay chalice.

Appearance
Pitch black with 1-2 fingers of light brown head. Great retention for the 11.5% abv.

Nose
Vanilla, lactose, milk chocolate, mashmallow and some graham cracker. Smells like a really nice Milk Stout.

Taste
Milk chocolate, vanilla, marshmallow and prune. Some dirty espresso notes. Very earthy and smokey. Light notes of graham cracker and honey.

Mouthfeel
Medium-full bodied, creamy, sticky and dry.

Overall
Lots of marshmallow and vanilla. Very earthy and smokey. The 11.5% abv is hidden extremely well. This is a very well done Imperial Stout. Keep your eye out.

NCB is also currently aging some of this to put out a Bourbon Barrel version of Leon sometime next year. :)

Poured into a snifter, black with some lighter brown edges. Intense two finger heading that leaves some nice lacing throughout. Very alive looking.

Nose starts out with a little mocha upfront and sweeter molasses takes over. Then fades again with chocolate goodness. A tame nose overall nothing really taking over.

Taste starts out with a mocha bang, quickly taken over by a hot boozey kick but just as fast as you taste it its gone. Lactic powdery notes along with a slight vanilla pops its head up then finishes with a nice heavy hop bite.

Silky smooth mouth, full bodied and excellent balance with great carbonation. A slight chew but perfect with that higher abv.

A beer brewed with marshmallow, graham cracker and chocolate very creative and complex beer. Neshaminy creek brewing is making a helluva name for itself already and its only been open two months.

Served on tap in a snifter

Appearance – The beer is served a pitch black color with a one finger of tan colored head. The head fades relatively quickly leaving a big level of streaky lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell –The aroma is overall roasted, sweet and malty. A good level of a roasted smell mixed with a bit of a graham cracker smell create the bulk of the smell. Along with these aromas are some quite sweet aromas. The sweeter smells are of a chocolate and vanilla nature, mixed with some marshmallow like smells of more vanilla and confectioners’ sugar. All in all the mix of aromas is quite inviting, creating a rather sweet and chocolate “s’more like” smell.

Taste – The taste begins rather sweet and roasted with a good level of caramel, chocolate and vanilla sweetness and a nice roasted malt flavor that meld well with the sweet to create a chocolate bar like flavor for the brew. This sweeter chocolate flavor persists throughout the taste with other flavors of some of the marshmallow sweetness, with a more powdered sugar like taste, joining the tongue soon after the initial tastes. Some caramel and a bit more chocolate as well as some more graham cracker like flavors joining the tongue more toward the end, one is left with a rather sweet, chocolaty and smooth sugary taste to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is average to slightly on the lower side for what would be expected of a brew of 11.6 % abv with a carbonation level that is on the average to slightly above average side. A bit of a thicker body and a little less carbonation may have suited the rich and sweet imperial stout qualities of the brew a bit better, but overall it was still rather nice and it really hides the alcohol content well as only the slightest trace of it is encountered in the taste..

Overall – A quite tasty brew overall. Big and robust, but with a amazingly hidden alcohol level. Pretty much a drinkable decadent dessert in a glass.
