A very refreshing, crisp beer. Pours a cloudy light straw-yellow with a substantial head of medium lifetime. Of course a beer at this ABV does not last long and is meant to be consumed quickly. A yeasty aroma with creamy vanilla notes that entices one to partake of the brew. The all important taste is excellent, sweet bready malt and a tantalizing slightly floral hop finish. Reminiscent of Mexican sweet breads. This is a very sessionable refreshing ale which I enjoyed completely.

Another outstanding winner from the experienced brewers at Neshaminy Creek.

The beer pours out a clear light golden color into a Duvel glass with a 1/2" bright white head that soon recedes but leaves some foam and lace on the surface of the beer and the sides of the glass. Sipping leaves behind some light speckles. legs and small patches of lacing.

The fresh clean aroma has a lightly malty character to it (cracker? biscuity?) with a touch of floral and grassy qualities.

While the flavors are mostly predictable from the nose there's a bit more flavor here than expected from the nose. Overall the light slightly sweet malt is backed up by a touch of citrus and possibly a hint of pine, and there seems to be light but still pleasant touch of floral and grassy character as well.

The mouthfeel is fairly light with some light gentle carbonation. A medium length finish traces of the lightly sweet malt and touches of fruit which all fade into dryness as some light bitterness emerges from the background.

While not particularly complex or strongly flavored, this is a good workman like beer that has some nice character to it. This could be an ideal beer for a warm summer afternoon on the patio or to suggest to those who think they don't like beer. While I'm not going to go out of my way to find this beer again, I’d certainly not turn one down if offered and I’d be happy to recommend it to someone who wants something with a bit more flavor than a mass market beer but who isn't looking for strong flavors.

Neshaminy Creek Croydon Cream Ale
$6 on tap at Rex1516, Philadelphia, PA 04.12.2014

Appearance: Hazy golden body. Short head of creamy bright white froth is short lived. Minimal lacing (possible dirty glass?).

Aroma: Lightly fruity, sweetish malt, delicately floral/grassy.

Flavor: The flavor follows the aroma. Light, straightforward maltiness is a touch sweet. Notes of apple appear, some citrus/pineapple, and background pine. The hops are delicately floral, and grassy/spicy, almost like soft coriander. Residual, sweet malt/fruit finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light in body. Moderate, smooth carbonation.

Overall: Not a bad beer. A little bit fuller in character than you might expect of a cream ale, but not quite a "blonde" ale.

2/14/15 at the office. Decent for a very low alcohol. A little Burt rubber taste but overall drinkable for a low alcohol.

Poured from a 12 oz. can, and yes, since you asked, that can did reach me by way of the incredible woodychandler. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is kind of mild, some grains and malts are present. Taste is grains, bready malts, a bit of lemon, a good thirst quencher. Feels medium bodied in the beer and probably would be better enjoyed on a hot, summer day.

The breweries take on a lawnmower beer. Poured slightly hazy yellow. Fluffy white two finger heading which left tremendous lacing. Very crisp cracker like malt, with a nice bitter hop balance in both nose and taste. Slight linger of hop in the finish. Very smooth, balanced and a trace of lactic like feeling in the mouth. I hate to make it sound like favoritism but this brewery is no joke very good stuff coming out of here.

It has a smooth, champagne feel going on. It's like a Miller Lite or a Budweiser but it has more taste to it. I go for more bitter beers but I like this one.

Enjoyed a pint on tap at PJ's in Medford. Slightly hazy light amber appearance topped with a thin head that quickly dissipated. Smells like a wheat soda cracker with a touch of toffee. Taste is mildly sweet with a bit of caramel on the finish. Even with such a low abv, it still has a great mouthfeel with enough chewiness to give it some character. Very nice job by Neshaminy.

Super crystal clear straw yellow body; 1/2 finger soapy like head. No lacing left in the glass.
Smells like a typical lager style with some wet cardboard and a little cracker-like smell.
Tastes EXACTLY like one would expect from an "American Lawnmower Ale" - a little lemon on the tip of the tongue, followed by that dry maltiness and a little corn.
A super light mouthfeel; watery, clean finish and at 4.2% you can definitely put several of these down.
Overall a decent and easy drinker for what it is; not exactly a style that receives a lot of love on this site, and not exactly a style you'd think of having on a cold wintry day like today, but just imaging a hot steamy August with a can in your hand...pure refreshment!

Smells and looks like a beer I'd have in college. Nothing much happening. Lack of taste - almost smells stale. Not a fan.

Golden yellow in color with a slight haze. Poured with a billowy, fluffy white foam that reduced to a wispy cap. Bread , cereal and cornmeal aromas with light floral and metallic notes at the end. Smooth, delicate, creamy feel with a light crispness near the end. Bready malt and corn flavors up front followed by light tangy herbal hops through the middle. Herbal bitterness overtakes the sweet bready malt at the end as this finished with a semi-dry crispness and lingering yeasty and herbal hop bitterness.

On-tap @ Neshaminy Creek Brewing in Croydon, PA.

Light gold color with a small white head. Great clarity. Light sweetness in the aroma, most likely from the additions of corn and sugar, with floral hops coming through at the end. Flavor is well balanced with a crisp, smooth finish. Light in body and a breeze to drink. A very clean ale with no off flavors. A pleasant easy sipper!

An old school style cream ale. Reminded me of what my Grandad used to drink in the summer while watching the Phillies. It poured a nice golden straw color with a white creamy head. The smell was a classic clean hopped odor. The taste was very good. It has light refreshing malty and smooth taste. I could drink these all summer.

Drank out of glass but have had before. Yellow. A finger of head. Little carbonation. Sweet. Boozy even for the low ABV there is alcohol heat. A little bitter but subtle hops. Decent malt. I wish it had more carbonation. I liked it but won't buy again for a bit even though it is a good beer.

Served on tap in a pint glass

Appearance – The beer is served a lightly hazed golden color with a two finger thick and billowy white head. The head fades relatively quickly leaving a decent level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the heaviest of a cracker like aroma mixed with a bit of wheat and some slightly yeasty smells. Along with these aromas comes some sweeter aromas of a caramel and toffee nature as well as a hint of a grassy smell.

Taste – The taste begins with a slightly sweetened bready taste with some notes of a yeastiness mixed within. As the taste advances the sweeter flavors fade a bit giving way to more grainy and grassy tastes. All the while a little bit of a sour lemon and an apple taste come to the tongue and with the grassy and hay flavors getting stronger and leaving a somewhat drier and rather crisp taste to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather thins as would be expected for a brew of only 4.2 % with a carbonation level that is on the higher side. For the style and very light abv. nature of the brew the feel is great and makes of a very easy drinking brew.

Overall – A decently easy drinking and less sweet cream ale. A good session style brew.

Half from the can, half poured, I've had draft before.

On the style, this is ace. Pours like an adjunct lager with more head. Smell's slightly biscuity, but with subtle hops.

It's like a generic cream ale on the initial tongue, completely inoffensive. However, the subtle hopes (floral overall) come out after the initial flavor.

Medium light, as it should be.

Just a good cream ale. Rated on style.

A – Light hazed golden color with a 1 finger thick and billowy white head. Well carbonated. Fades quickly, scant lace.

S – Cracker aroma mixed with wheat and yeast. Grass, caramel, toffee, balanced and not too sweet.

T – Follows smell with the start at the sweetened cracker taste leavened by yeast. Grassy and tart apple taste follow, with a good lemony drying spell.

F – Nice creamy feel for a light beer.

O – Great session brew from must try craft brewer. Not sweet action, but a good 2nd place in category.
