This is our take on a German wheat bock, but with a small twist. We brew this 8.5% ABV holiday offering with orange blossom honey, malted wheat and dark Munich malt, a hint of Chocolate malt, and German Hallertau and Tettnanger hops. While most German bock beers named with the ‘-or’ ending are traditional double bock lagers, we decided to break from tradition a bit with not only the name of this beer, but the use of orange blossom honey as well. Prost!

Best American Weizenbock I've had to date. A touch too sweet and chewy but otherwise a great beer for the price. Neshaminy is really progressing nicely in the beer game (168 characters)

This is the best weizenbock from a US craft brewery I've had so far. It has the banana fruity esters, sweet malt, rum, and dark fruits along with a signature hint of honey. In addition, this complex bock has coffee, dark chocolate, burnt wood and friendly hop finish that does not destroy all of the other great flavors. Similar to the Neshaminy Creek Dunks Ferry Dunkelweizen times two or the Punkel Dunkel without the pumpkin or spices, this is exactly what I had hoped for in their weizenbock. Definitely more intense than an Ayinger, and more charred oak intensity than an Erdinger Pikantus. I will be drinking this whenever I can find it. (643 characters)

6/9....dark brown with light overtones with white foam and some lacing. Nutty sweet nose, with orange spices. Taste is a light sweet cherry, plum, raisin. Some cinnamon. Honey and orange peel. Heavy holiday flavor. (214 characters)

Poured from a brown 22 oz. bottle. Has a dark cola color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, chocolate, a bit of honey. Taste is malty, bready, a hint of chocolate, alcohol is well hidden, Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer. (255 characters)

A: The beer is black when viewed from afar but upon closer inspection when held up a bright light it is clear dark red in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that died down but left a thin head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of orange blossom honey are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste starts off with flavors of orange blossom honey - these seem to transition to black cherry flavors when they start mixing with the malts.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The use of orange blossom honey in this beer is quite unusual for the style but as flavors of dark fruits become noticeable towards the finish it starts to seem more like a weizenbock.

Poured form a 22 oz bomber in to a tulip glass.

A- Pours a dark brown body with a one inch brown body. Red hues around the edges. Pretty decent looking.

S- Mostly dark fruits on the nose with some wheat.

T- Slightly tart dark fruits, milk chocolate, and a little spicy. Very balanced as far as flavors.

M- Lovely mouthfeel. Very full and medium light carbonation as it warms up. Just the way I like it.

O- Reasonably enjoyable brew by Neshaminy. Can't wait until Punkel Dunkel comes out again in the fall! (510 characters)

Appearance: pours a dark cloudy brownish amber color with a 2" head that lasts awhile.

Smell: some fruits and wheat tones come through to the nose.

Taste: wheat, soft raisins and dark cherries, a hint of banana, some pumpernickel bread qualities, and a mild bitterness. Yeast flavors arrive late.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Crisp to start, less crisp at the finish.

Overall: this weizen bock has a decent flavor and was slow sipping. (442 characters)

Poured into a sam adams custom pint glass: color is brown, opaque, head is tan with fine bubbles that present about 1/2 inch thick.

Smell is sweet, deep caramel, raisins, plums, touch of chocolate.

Taste is sweet, strong sweetness but not quite cloying. Flavors are caramel, raisin, plum with chocolate finish. Banana and clove are subtle with some additional spicy/dryness.

Mouthfeel is sweet at first, then drying and kind of biting on the tongue.

Overall, a bit sweet for my taste, but the flavors are interesting as it warms with deep sweet flavors and subtle banana. (575 characters)
