Appearance is a cloudy, muddy brown with copper edges. There was a half finger of beige head that dissipated rather quickly. The nose has a strong essence of sweet pumpkin accompanied by a hint of alcohol to tingle the nostrils. The pumpkin is present in the hearty flavor profile, but it takes a back seat to the seasonal spices. There is also a hint of maple syrup sweetness and bananas (probably from the yeast). The finish has more than a hint of alcohol.
This is a different kind of pumpkin ale - a dunkel with pumpkin. The blend works out very nicely and makes for a fine seasonal treat.
Note: I had the 2013 version both on-tap and bottled and found the flavors to be more robust in the on-tap version.

Raisin brown in color and murky in appearance. Poured with a short light beige foam that quickly reduced to a wispy cap. Sweet pumpkin pie, nutmeg, spice and raisin aromas. Medium bodied with light carbonation that contributes to the creamy smoot feel. Sweet pumpkin, dark sugar and malty flavor throughout. Spicy coriander and nutmeg uo front transition seamlessly to spicy ho bitterness toward the end. Finishes with a spicy, slightly boozy aftertaste. This is an amazing Big pumpkin ale stlyle. A fabulous balance of sweet and spicy with malt and hop character presence as well.

Appearance: pours a hazy copper color with a short head.
Smell: spices and fruit sweetness is pleasant on the nose.
Taste: wheat, allspice, clove, cinammon, alcohol, and a decent bitterness. Alcohol is warming.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Light crispness to start, smoother at the finish. Long lasting aftertaste as the spice linger on the tongue.
Overall: a slow sipping wheat beer that has a bunch of pumpkin spices. Not a bad beer, but one glass is enough in a session.
