The picture on the label says it all. This is the weizenbocks of pumpkin ales. Intense flavor of caramel, vanilla, pumpkin, spice and and a lingering banana finish, When I opened the bottle the room smelled like banana cream pie. The actual aroma on closer inspection is sweet pumpkin pie, once the fruity esters dissipate after airing. Over 1/8 inch of yeast sediment makes it very cloudy. Overall, an outstanding, creative beer which blends two of my favorite styes, weizenbock and pumpkin ale. I will be searching this out again as it is now my favorite pumpkin beer.

22 oz bottle poured into a shaker pint.

Appearance
Mahogany brown with a short tan head that dissipates quickly. Slightly cloudy with moderate carbonation.

Nose
Nutmeg, allspice, molasses, brown sugar, and toasted pie crust.

Taste
Sweet pumpkin meat, pumpkin puree, and toasted pie crust. Nutmeg, allspice, and molasses. Touches of cinnamon, pumpkin rind, and brown sugar.

Mouthfeel
Medium bodied, silky, creamy, and smooth.

Overall
Sweet and full flavored. Close to a homemade pumpkin pie. Still tasting awesome after almost 7 months. Awesome job, Neshaminy!

Appearance is a cloudy, muddy brown with copper edges. There was a half finger of beige head that dissipated rather quickly. The nose has a strong essence of sweet pumpkin accompanied by a hint of alcohol to tingle the nostrils. The pumpkin is present in the hearty flavor profile, but it takes a back seat to the seasonal spices. There is also a hint of maple syrup sweetness and bananas (probably from the yeast). The finish has more than a hint of alcohol.

This is a different kind of pumpkin ale - a dunkel with pumpkin. The blend works out very nicely and makes for a fine seasonal treat.

Note: I had the 2013 version both on-tap and bottled and found the flavors to be more robust in the on-tap version.

Raisin brown in color and murky in appearance. Poured with a short light beige foam that quickly reduced to a wispy cap. Sweet pumpkin pie, nutmeg, spice and raisin aromas. Medium bodied with light carbonation that contributes to the creamy smoot feel. Sweet pumpkin, dark sugar and malty flavor throughout. Spicy coriander and nutmeg uo front transition seamlessly to spicy ho bitterness toward the end. Finishes with a spicy, slightly boozy aftertaste. This is an amazing Big pumpkin ale stlyle. A fabulous balance of sweet and spicy with malt and hop character presence as well.
