12 oz bottle
Medium almond amber, nice looking fine bubble head, film and fine scattered lacing.
Mild grainy hop nose
Soft and smooth on the tongue, with ample biscuity malts and drying and resiny hops in the mid and later sections. Over 8 % well hidden, we'll crafted and worth a try.

-Spiegelau ipa glass. Disclaimer and disclosure. Bottle neck date 2015.01.09. Consumed 2015.07.07.
A: Soapy edging, one inch, white head with dull yellow tones. Pale orange with a generally good clarity, and a full rush of carbonation that was steady and strong. Stratified ring lacing down the glass.
S: Soft aroma, freshly cut grass, dry grapefruit skin. Weak aroma, no persistance, identity, or complexity. Not much of a pale ale ale let alone imperial standard, but could be attributed to 6 month layover.
T: Flavor was grassy, dull citrus, good bitterness level, but shallow complexity, only bittering, not really flavorful. Dull metallic hints, stale lemon peel, thin substance.
M: Light bodied, stale citrus, really lackluster, no crispness.
O: Overall a six month layover may have attributed to some deterioration and evaluation. I have had many a ipa 6-9months past bottling with little or no fall off in nose or flavor, sadly this is not one of them. Stale hopping, thin malting, lifeless mouthful and just a bittering aspect with no real flavor made this a drainpour. I usually like this brewery's offerings, do not think a fresher bottle would fair better then a 78 for me, seems like a style filler with a stale dry finish.

Golden hue with little carbonation. Slight scent of hops and citrus. Deep mosaic and pale taste. Too much pale.
