A - Looks quite good deep dark porter slight ruby hues. Head is good a 1/2 inch of mocha head that sticks around to a good thick lace ring.
S - Great roasted peanut butter smells with coffee and cocoa notes. Smells like liquid bliss.
T - Sweeter chocolate and less roast than the terrapin offering. Some roasted coffee but very little twang. Has a good peanut butter taste. Best beer they ever brewed.
M - Medium bodied has a good chewy taste. I can dig it.

Overall while most of their brews are experimental home brew like taste this one was pulled off better than commercial offerings. I would buy this again!

I liked this one. Taste is big peanut butter, roasted malt, sweet and dark chocolate. A nice dessert beer. I prefer DuClaw's Sweet Baby Jesus more, but this is right up there.

Aroma is a freshly broken Reese's PB cup. Taste is about the same, chocolate, slightly sweet peanut butter and roasted malt in the finish. Best in the peanut butter chocolate beer class.

Evil Genius "Purple Monkey Dishwasher"
on tap @ Union Jack's Pub, Manayunk, PA

Notes: Very deep mahogany brown colored body. Short-lived head of creamy tan froth. Lacing leaves a bit to be desired as well. Aroma clearly expresses peanut butter, but there's some sweet milk chocolate and bittersweet dark chocolate as well. No, or very limited, roastiness. Medium bodied and creamy-smooth (which seems quite appropriate) with a moderate carbonation. Peanut butter returns in the flavor but it's not as full as the nose suggests with the chocolatey notes taking a much greater part of the stage. It's not particularly roasty (again, as appropriate) but there is some coffee-like flavor and dark malt acidity, which along with a firm bitterness balances it quite nicely, leaving just a bit of the sweet malt you'd expect in a peanut butter porter. It's gently caramelish and, obviously, nutty. The only hops that are found are mild and dull, appearing in the lingering finish. An interesting and enjoyable beer. It's certainly not the first, but it's one of the better peanut butter porters I've had.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a black color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is like a peanut butter cup. Taste is the same, peanut butter cup, roasted malts, some smokiness at the finish. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a unique and tasty beer.

A: The beer is black when viewed from afar; when held up to a light it is very dark red in color. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that died down and consistently left a thin head covering the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of peanut butter are present in the nose along with notes of chocolate malts. The peanut butter seems to become stronger as the beer warms up.
T: The taste starts out with flavors of chocolate malts and bits of roasted malts then flavors of peanut butter start to become noticeable. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels a bit shy of being medium-bodied on the palate and is a little airy with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink for a beer that would seem to be heavy from the peanut butter and chocolate flavors. It seems to become very nutty as it warms up.

Heavy scent of peanut butter which reminds me of a peanut butter cookie. The flavors of coffee and malt are more pronounced than the chocolate and peanut butter. A little thin but overall a nice, sweet porter.

Strangely enjoyable beer with peanut prevailing over the chocolate. Overall good - very good change of pace beer, but do not think I can go two deep in one sitting.

The alcohol taste was overpowering the real taste of the beer. Didn't really match the aroma.

Well, no matter how the beer is their name is amazing! I can't wait to try more of their funly named beers. Had on tap at Horseshoe Pub.

Nice fluffy head, pretty much pitch black.

Nose dark choc peanut butter, toasted, nutty, biscuit, a little caramel and toasty brown malts, lots of nuts and dark choc malt.

Taste more choc and peanut butter, almost fake like, nutty biscuit, creamy, nice cookie biscuit note with nuts, little bitterness

Creamy feel, decent carb,

Overall decent, not a great beer but fun, and lots of peanutbutter and chocolate, so decent for what they planned.

A - pours a dark reddish brown color with a small tan colored head. Very little lacing.

S - best part of this beer is it's strong aroma. I can smell the peanut butter, coca, and coffee bean in this beer.

T - good taste it's a little on the bitter side. Bitter coca and coffee prevails over a slight bit of peanut butter that is drown by the bitterness. Need a touch of something sweet.

M - full bodied as expected but smooth. So pretty good.

O - not bad I like the name and the smell is outstanding but just above average on taste and less than average on appearance.

A dark brown Porter a little tan head and some lacing. Smells of burnt peanuts, no choco aroma. Tastes of roasted peanuts, not much sweetness or chocolate coming through, a lingering bitterness though. Thin body, not much to hold it together. Overall, a fair peanut butter flavored porter, could use more chocolate and sweetness...average, but not great.

12 oz bottle poured into a shaker pint.

Near black with some light penetration along the edges. Short tan head dissipates quickly.

Reese's peanut butter, milk chocolate, hazelnut, and chocolate fudge.

Big peanut butter nuttiness followed by milk chocolate and lesser notes of chocolate fudge. Very balanced with only a hint of earthy hop aroma.

Medium-light bodied, smooth, and balanced.

Exactly as advertised. Sweet Baby Jesus has some competition.

Look: Nearly black in color, some red around the edges, with some foamy head

Smell: Very up front peanut butter, with some saltiness, with a hint of sweet chocolate.

Taste: Roasted peanuts, salt, malty chocolate finish.

Feel: Full bodied with creamy texture.

Overall: Very good porter. I didn't expect it to be as good as it is.

Pours dark brown with a white head. Plenty of lace. Aroma of peanut shells and peanut butter. The taste has peanut and roasted malt . Not sweet, but nice roasted, nutty flavor. Full bodied, creamy feel. A nice peanut beer.

Great beer for after dinner. You can really taste the chocolate and peanut butter without it being too sweet or overpowering.

Appearance: Pours fudge brown with a two-finger beige head that delivers strands of lace

Smell: Chocolate and peanut butter tones; cracker bread, too

Taste: Cracker bread and a touch of char, up front, with developing chocolate and slightly acrid peanut butter tones; roast in the finish but a bit of plastic in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Not quite up to the level of some other peanut butter stouts

Thanks, singlespeed, for the opportunity

On tap at paradise by the slice.
served in a pint glass it has a black color body with a tan small head. The aroma is of chocolate and peanut butter. The taste is the same as the aroma, it is like drinking a liquid peanut butter cup. I also get some roasted malt on the finish. Mouthfeel is smooth and overall a darn tasty porter.
