A: The beer is hazy pale golden yellow in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white head that quickly died down, leaving lacing on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of peppery spices are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of coriander and Belgian yeast along with slight hints of citrusy hops and a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and prickly on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer does a very nice job of blending together several different styles such as an American IPA, a Belgian Pale Ale, and the spices of a Belgian witbier.

This was a cloudy, dark yellow; it was served with a small fizzy head.

I smelled spicy coriander, earthy yeast, and some hoppy resin and citrus. Taste is similar, it comes across like a hoppy wit with caramel. This was okay, not one I'll revisit though.

I picked this up at the new Weis Markets Bottle Shop in Lititz during a recent foray up that way. I have also submitted a Change Request since I do not believe that it was intended to be a "Wheat Pale Ale". Instead, it is on the label as a "White IPA", making it a part of that new breed, the "Belgian IPA".

I did a little bit of agitation in the bottle before popping the cap. I began with an aggro pour of about half of the bottle's contents until it began to really foam up following a pseudo-cascade. The two fingers of dense, rocky, bone-white head with great retention resembled meringue. Coupled with the cloudy, golden-yellow color of the beer itself (SRM = 5), it looked like a slice of lemon meringue pie in my glass! Ha. Nose had the black pepper smell of coriander, plus a citrus and tropical fruitiness that is indicative of the Belgian IPAs. Watching the Belgian lace form as the head began to fall made my mouth begin to water uncontrollably. Flavor was more towards tropical fruit - mango, papaya but I also got a definite black pepper bite on the tongue. Finish was dry, probably from the use of spices, but possibly from the yeast strain, also. I did not like it quite as much as the White Hatter, but I am now certain that they are of the same style.

(born on date of 2014-04-10 - poured into a balloon)

NOTE: the style is mislabeled - this should be approached as a Belgian "White" IPA

A: fairly cloudy yellowish-amber liquid... 2 finger tall, cottony, off white foam that recedes into a messy cap... only some thin webs of lace here and there

S: moderately explosive... grapefruit flesh, lemon zest... bit of the coriander behind the citrusy aromas... subtle toasty sugar cookie (pale) malt in the background... altogether on par and up with the best "White" IPAs I've had

T: notably relatively spicy from coriander and hops with a firm, grassy, bitterness and moderate citrus-acidic bite... grapefruit in the aftertaste... this is certainly hopped more like a double IPA and a hoppy Wit - and it's rather nice... has a sort of vibrant, saison-like yeast character backed with a bit of the tonic alcohol phenolics of the super varieties... below the citrus bubblegum forefront is a base of remarkably apparent raw, sweetish pale malt

M: really quite velvety and plush (dextrins? unmalted wheat?)... fullish roundness but it drops wonderfully dry with just enough of a drying/tonic sensation from the alcohol

O: pretty damn moreish, perfectly dry and drinkable... the aggressive hoppiness, plump fullness, and appetizingly bitter and soft/dry finish all come as a bit of a shock... this was well done and if you have a sweet tooth for "White IPAs" then I'd highly recommend this - it balances elements of a DIPA and a Wit surprisingly well
