Poured from 22oz bomber to shaker. Very dark brown with light tan head, much lacing. Nose of cherry and toasty malt, coffee, grain. Taste is dominated by cherry, Robitussin (in a not so good way). Not getting a beer feel from the smell or flavors. Thinner bodied and average carbonation.

Stout flavor is overpowered by tart cherry taste. I was looking for a balance between the strong malt flavor of a stout and the sweet taste of cherry. No sweetness to be had from either.

22oz bomber, no bottle date. Pours dark brown with a tan/pinkish head. Weak smell of bourbon, cherry, and roasted malts. Tastes immediately of tart cherry which dominates throughout. Almost no stout flavor until the late aftertaste. Medium carbonation for the style and thin body. The smell was promising, but can't make up for the one-dimensional taste of tart cherry. Would have been better classified as a fruit beer.

The artificial cherry taste is really not good, not sure where they got their "natural cherry juice" but I would try to return it. This is cherry forward, stout 2nd.....in fact, I had a tough time distinguishing any stout characteristics. If you like your stouts extremely fruit forward, grab this one!!!
