App: Golden orange, frothy 2 fingers head dissipating into a thin coat leaving tons of lacing around the inside of the glass. Nice carbonation. Very lovely presentation.

Nose: Grapefruit, citrus rind, tangerine, pine, a bit of dankness, tropical fruits maybe a bit of pineaple and mango. Hops up front, the malts are very suddle, acting more like a canvas for the hops.

Taste: Grapefruit juice, tangerine, lime zest, a bit piney and earthy in the finish.

Solid West Coast Style IPA - Basicly everything you would expect. Nice balance between the fresh fruit and the green notes. Clean, crisp finish. This is right on the money. Truly one of the best IPA in Quebec at the moment. This brew met my expectations. Well done, Le Castor !

On tap at Vices and Versa. Served in a short pint.

Appearance - Clear orange body. Huge white head with great retention and beautiful lacing.

Smell - Citrus hops. Toasty malt. Bready and doughy smell.

Taste - Sweet orange citrus hops. Really nice. Light pale malt sweetness. Minimal bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Light. Creamy and low carbonation.

Overall - Impressive. American hops with and English malt and feel. (415 characters)

Bottle: Poured a slightly hazy golden color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and resinous hoppy notes is quite intense with nice floral notes. Taste is dominated by citrus and resinous hoppy notes with floral undertones with dry malt base and some bitterness at the end. Body is about average with great carbonation. Quite an impressive beer with great hops punch and citrus notes while limiting the bitterness level. (469 characters)

Thanks to Soods for this one.

A - Cloudy pale yellow wit a thin layer of white head.

S - Peach, pine, grapefruit, pineapple and a light mango aroma. Slight honey sweetness.

T - Moderate bitterness up front with a mix of citrus and tropical fruit flavours. Peach, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, pineapple and a light mango flavour. A honey malt sweetness is present to provide some balance.

M - Medium. Creamy. Oily. Moderate. (430 characters)

Poured from a 660ml bottle into a stemmed tulip glass

A: Straw with an orange hue in color and is almost clear; pours to a huge sudsy white head that gets creamy as it slowly settles and leaves behind a veritable curtain of lacing.

S: A beautiful, big hoppy nose! First off are big juicy tropical fruits (mangoes and papayas) followed by some subtle spicy notes and sweet malt.

T: For such an amazing, hoppy nose, Yakima is very malt forward with lots of rich caramel malt thru the taste. The hops are there with lots of citrus and tropical fruit qualities. There are some bittering hops drying out the finish.

M: Medium body and carbonation; round and smooth.

O: An amazing hoppy nose that was lacking in the taste and finished with a strange aftertaste. With such an amazing nose, I was a bit let-down that there was not more of a hop presence when drinking the beer. Still, very drinkable and I need to resample to see if the off-flavor is still present. (963 characters)

Poured from a 660ml. bottle, no freshness info.

Appearance: A stark white and foamy head that really lays it on the glass. Light yellow colored body, nice and hazy..

Smell: Powerful lemon and assorted citrus fruits, aromatic, bit floral.

Taste: Sweet kiss on the hops, biscuity, lemon, papaya, pineapple and tropical fruit.

Mouthfeel: Well balanced, not aggressive but good bitterness regardless.

Overall: A sessionable IPA. Nothing over the top, just well made. (467 characters)

Huge thanks to ricochet173 for providing us this brew.

A: Pours a golden pear with 3 fingers of off-white head which slowly dissipates leaving plenty of lacing.

S: Initial smells of sweet tropical fruit of papaya, pineapple and oranges together with citrus fruits. Strong background notes of sweet malts.

T: Sweet tropical fruits together with a solid malt backbone. Finishes with a lingering citrus bitterness

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

O: A nicely balanced IPA that contains a solid amount of malts to balance out clean, fresh tropical hops. Thanks again to Steve to providing this to me. (620 characters)

Bomber from Brouehaha QC for $6.99+

Appearance - Gold colour with a large size white coloured head. There is an average amount of carbonation showing and there is some great lacing. The head lasted for around 4-5 minutes before it was gone.

Smell - Hops, apricots, grapefruit, breads/grains

Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and I can taste apricot, grapefruit, and malts. There is also pineapple, resiny hops, and citrus zest.

Overall - Wow - it's amazing how far quebec IPA's have come in the last few years. This plus Moralite have really changed the landscape for QC brews. This is pretty bang on for a west coast style IPA, and I can get it fresh. My bottle was from a case stamped May 26th. If this was in a smaller format like moralite, it would be one of my go to's. (802 characters)
