It is about time I made a visit to the Sugar Land location. Located in the cities Town Square shopping complex. There seems to be endless streets of generic chain pubs/eateries or shops. I think the vibe here is a bit more relaxed than the chaotic bar that is downtown. There is a long L shaped wood and copper bar, with the typical penny lined tap wall. An area for darts, a private area for parties, and a much bigger outside patio than downtown. Seems there are more TVs here as well.

Service at the bar was fine. If you knew some of the staff downtown, you will see some familiar faces behind the bar here. I was there in the late afternoon/happy hour, and the place did not seem as packed, so the waitresses seemed to be able to cover the smaller dinning area here much better. Which is a good thing. Food is typical for the chain. There are a few other items, like pork belly and a burger. The pork belly did not excite me though.

Beer selection is on par, maybe less than downtown or other locations I have been to. Still plenty of Texas locals, mix of national brands, good imports, and two casks were on in good condition. Always good in my eyes.

I have to compare this with its downtown counterpart. I think I like this location better, cause it is not as crazy, more chill and easier to get to (considering the ridiculous parking and construction downtown). Well done, this meets and surpasses my expectations.

I really enjoyed this place. It has a good atmosphere and is very energetic. I don't know how many beers they have available. But it's enough to take you numerous visits to try em all. The only food we ate while there was some appetizers which were as rated, ok. But the beer selection was excellent.

They have a sampler with about 5 different types of beer of your choice. They also have something for the regulars that visit there. If you drink enough beer there then you get a ceremony of sorts, and a plate on the wall (hence the name flying saucer). The only thing I didn't like was one of the girls with us whom only likes mixed drinks and not beer was only allowed 3 drinks. It wasn't due to her behavior or anything. 3 Drink cut off for mixed drinks. It's not like they were mixed stout by any means either.

But all in all I had a great time there and tried a lot of different beers.

Consider this to be the beer Mecca of Texas. Having been to both the Downtown location and the Sugar Land location, can tell you I find the Sugar Land location to be superior. They tend to have at least 1 ale on cask at all times, usually a Texas brew, but occasionally Stone will show up there. The staff, Beergoddesses (as their waitresses are called) and Bartenders alike, have a great working knowledge of the beer they serve, but never come across as condescending. The food is _simply_ some of the best bar food I've ever had - not the best food I've had, but bar food-wise head and shoulders above anything I've had at a bar before. The Usinger's brats sliced on "nachos" - which are more like tostadas with a generous helping of beans and cheese, are a revelation. Also, the house smoked salmon is out of this world. One of my favorite places in the world.
