Yes, our very first brew. Pre-prohibition Cream Ale and Steam Beer hybrid. It’s a session ale brewed with barley, maize, and wheat.

32oz crowler picked up from the brewery. Very pale yellow/straw colored ale capped with a white head. Herbal and grassy aroma with lemony citrus. Nice nutty & biscuity grain presence with herbal lemongrass, and sweet corn. Light-to-medium body, modest bitterness, and a dry finish. Knowing this is a cream/steam hybrid helps it out. I think it's good, and it was better than expected. It was very refreshing on a 95° day with the heat index soaring towards 110°. Glad to try their first brew!

Perhaps I learned the hard way the cream ale is NOT my thing. My girlfriend who hates beer did NOT like this either. Her Father was an alcoholic and she has had a LOT of pain. This was part of my spice rack-style flight at the brewery. A guy at my work said this place was good. He DOES NOT know beer but he was right.

On tap at the brewery, quick review from written notes.
Served in a mini-nonic pint glass.
Lightly hazed straw gold, slowly rising trails of carbonation visible, a dense halo of drippy lacing forms and remains in the glass after the first few sips.
Earthy grain husks and light malt/maize sweetness in the aroma.
Smooth feel, light bodied, pleasant and simple flavors of grain and mild malt sweetness.
Very clean and sessionable, a simple beer with a broad appeal that makes a perfect pairing with ancho pork tacos, or any other foods on the menu. Hits all the style hallmarks perfectly. Simplicity is vastly underrated these days, and still misunderstood by the dilettantes...
