On-tap at DryHop. Served in a 5oz taster glass.
A - Tan foam settles to a partial cap, thick collar, and thin fingers of lacing. Semi-transparent dark brown body.
S - Big coconut and chocolate here; it's very Mounds-esque. Some light lactose imparts notes of vanilla and sugar, but it's restrained and balanced by roast and baker's chocolate.
T - The taste is a tad more roasty and charred, with less of the coconut goodness found in the aroma. Chocolate is on the darker side, and lactose sugar is understated. Some roast bitterness lingers into the finish, and there's the slightest hint of astringency. On the whole it's pretty good, but I liked the aroma more.
M - Creamy, medium body, with lingering stickiness and a bit of dry, tannic coconut flesh. No alcohol, but that's expected at 5.5%.
D - A solid brew. If the taste matched the aroma this would be killer, but it's still a pretty enjoyable brew. I could drink a pint, but a growler might be a bit much unless shared many ways.
