1L growler shared with Chris (spycow). Served in a tulip.
A - White foam settles to a partial cap, solid collar, and splotches of lacework. Hazy, dark, orange-golden body.
S - Earthy, resinous, and piney hops, with a touch of lemony citrus and unripe grapefruit. Malt character is pronounced with notes of icing sugar, dough, and yeasty bread. Much more balanced than The Judge.
T - The taste is similar malt-forward, with notes of sugar cookie and dough. Hops impart light touches of tangerine, pine, earthiness, and grass. Mild bitterness that grows a bit over time.
M - Medium body, dry finish, pleasant soft carbonation, and lingering hop resins on the palate. No alcohol, as one would expect.
D - Easy to drink, but my least favorite in this series. I've never been particularly taken with Zythos hops, and the flavors they impart seem a tad understated here to boot. A solid pale ale, but I wouldn't go out of my way to try this one again.
