On tap at Cedric's Tavern on the Biltmore grounds

A - amber or light brown with a thin lacing of off white head

S - toffee, nutty, caramel

T - caramel, coffee, lightly bitter, a bit nutty, a hint of toffee, faint citrus in the finish

M - crisp, medium bodied, smooth

This is a nice, lighter, traditional English brown ale. It has great drinkability and a solid flavor profile. It's very refreshing which is what one needs after wandering the Biltmore grounds.

Cedric’s Tavern at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina

Enjoyed touring the grounds and grabbed a beer at the Tavern before leaving.

A: Light Brown in color with a white head
S: Roasty caramel smell
T: Different flavors throughout but the strongest would be caramel. Nutty flavoring in the beginning.
M: Pretty smooth

Poured from bottle into pint glass at private event at Cedric's Tavern.

Expected much more from this beer. Would have liked a bit more malt and body to it.

Ok if you have been out walking the grounds in hot weather, but nothing distinguishes this beer or makes it memorable.

Pours a clear, dark brown color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of yeast, sweet malt, pale malt, hint of yeast, and hops. Fits the style of an English Brown Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of yeast, sweet malt, hint of pale malt, hint of caramel malt, hops, biscuit, and a hint of pine. Overall, good appearance, blend, and body, but aroma is very muted and feel is only average.

16 ounce pint - $5.00 at Cedric’s Tavern at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina.

Appearance: Clear, brown body with a 1/3-inch head comprised of off-white foam. Thin lace sheets on the drop. Just a good, humble appearance.

Smell: Well, it certainly smells as one would expect a thoughtfully constructed brown ale to, with notes of slightly over-toasted bread, cocoa, dark caramel, and a hint of roast.

Taste: Brown maltiness of crushed toasted bread crusts, chocolate powder, maybe a bit of instant coffee. Lightly sweet. Small hint of fruitiness. Lightly earthy hops with enough bitterness to balance things out. More caramel developing late and upon warming. Dry, malty finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: A pleasant-tasting, easy-drinking brown ale.
