Thick'n chewy dark brown pour, small khaki head leaves little lacing. Snot factory says coffee and molasses, expecting something really sweet, but this is pretty solid.

Coffee, brown sugar, molasses? Yes please! Pig Minds Brewing Company give craft beer's boldest, darkest and most robust drinkers a beer that mimics what they are themselves all about. Their imperial coffee stout hits all the dark buttons of taste in a single glass.
Dark brown and flirting with black status, Joe Daddy settles with a delicate creme to emulate the character of coffee at mere sight. Its scent is chocked full of coffee and burnt sugars as a sultry, savory and sweet tone takes charge of the session early on. Much of that sweetness carries over to the initial taste as a luscious flavor of maple, brown sugar and molasses carry the taste of coffee, roast and nuttiness onto the middle palate.
Sweetness begins to break apart and the remnants of maple and brown sugar have a nutty taste with an overall earthen, woodsy and spicy flavor. Java plays a major roll with the nutty character of columbian coffee but with the spice and soil quality of turkish varieties. Broad and woodsy late on the palate, a strong impression of wood tannins, wood spices and dark grape-like fruit decorate the finish.
Full in body, the beer's fully fermented character gives the beer a lightness and moderate impression of weight that allows for drinkability, but the lack of sweetness also allows the tannins to apply a harsh astringency to the mouthfeel. Joe Daddy is a strained taste that pushes the taste just a little too far, its a common character for maple usage in beer where the sugars have been fully fermented and not aiding the sweetness in balance much at all.

Every now and then it is nice to drink a stout that is neither BA nor Imperial. This is the first think I have tried from Pigs Mind. This bomber looked interesting a while back; it;s been in my cellar/basement a couple months.
Midnight black with a trace of tan lacing.
Smells of coffee and sugar, lots of coffee.
Taste follows the aroma, hint of burnt something?
A very substantial mouthfeel like a milkshake only warm , very coating.
I will look for this again.

Pours black with only a bit of motor oil fizz rising to the top. No lacing. Aroma is dark, with notes of molasses, brown sugar, coffee, and alcohol. Malty smoothness opens up the palette for notes of molasses, coffee, dark chocolate and oak to follow. Mouth feel is bold and robust. Feels particularly nice when served on the colder side.Overall, a great beer. Lovely notes. Changes as it warms, but I prefer it on the colder side.
Served in a 12oz snifter.
