P- Giant beer Garden in Enola,pa

A- dark gold in color that is quite clear. minimal head and average lacing.

S- strong on the malts and nothing else really.

F- fruity esters with caramel malts with earthy hops to round it out.

M- light bodied and malty with the fruity esters hanging there.

O- not a bad beer but I would slightly above average.

12 oz. bottle poured into a craft tumbler

A- Dark gold in color, with really good clarity. The head is light tan. Retention is okay, and there is no lacing.

S- Malt forward, like it should be. Caramel notes, and very faint fruit esters (barely there.)

T- The taste, like smell, is malt forward as well. The caramel notes come though with a subtle sweetness, but the fruit esters are lacking. There is some detectable hop character that is faintly earthy.

M- Medium body, with a bittersweet finish. The hop is noticeable. Fairly well balanced, but I think the malt could be just a bit heavier to tip the scale slightly. Moderate carbonation.

O- Okay. I'd like this to have a little more body, a little less hop bitterness, and some more fruit character. It's sweet-ish, but I think it could be stronger.

I love a drinkable, flavorful, solid ale. This one fits the bill. It is an amber-copper color with a frothy white head. The aroma is malt forward, with a little fruit. Slight background of herbal hops. The flavor is balanced...nice malt backbone with firm bitterness that lingers. Full in body. This is a well made, drinkable ale.

Bottle > Pint Glass

A - Clear orange amber with half a finger of fizzy off white that goes away nearly instantly. No lacing.
S - Sweet malt, light mineral traces. Bland
T - Sweet caramel malt, a little light herbal blend. Just ok
M - Medium feel, just decent.
O - It just tastes like a "beer". I dont know what else to really say.

The beer is labeled an "old ale" here and the name evokes that style as well, but as an old ale it completely fails to deliver anything of what I'd expect from the style.

However, the lengthier description also makes it sound like an older, endemic style of American beer. The above scores are what I'd give it as a California Common. It was a crisp and refreshing beer. If you're expecting the fruity malts of an old ale, then skip this. If you want an easy drinking summer beer, this will suit you fine.
