Flight Sample at the Blend Bistro poured into 4 ounce sampler glass. Clear orange in color with a noticeable malt presence in the aroma. Typical Oktoberfest in taste, malty with a hint of lightly sweet caramel. I would have it again, but wouldn't go out of my way to seek it out. There are better renditions out there.

A very well crafted offering.
I was pleasantly surprised.
More the "Fest" style than Märzen, it has a pleasant toastiness and near perfect hop balance.

Look- Clear deep golden w/an amber hue; half finger off white head
Aroma- biscuity malt, floral and grassy hops, a hint of something artificially sweet, almost like creamed corn.
Taste- follows the nose with slightly sweet biscuity malt and floral hops that are a muted. The sweet creamed corn note is more prominent in the taste and detracts from an otherwise decent beer; no bitterness.
Feel- medium bodied with less than usual carbonation; finishes semi-dry with a little sweetness
Overall- decent oktoberfest, but a little too sweet with no bitterness to balance it. That, along with the creamed corn-like not in the flavor in taste make it one I probably won't return to.

DATE: September 28, 2017... OCCASION: relaxing after a return to the fall temperatures and soccer practice... GLASSWARE: Orioles mug... pours an orange amber body, perfect for the style, with a modicum of bubbles floating upward... the head is off-white and quickly thinning to a pencil-thin ring... caramel, candy (toffee?), with a lightly toasted bread malt brings an air of warmth... ginger and clove seem to influence secondary sniffs... hearty... sips with a reasonable liveliness, buzzing at the throat... soft overall, and easily sippable... a bit thin... the malt content here is enjoyable, and there is some floral hop stir here, but overall a quick sipper that actually has some weight for a fest at 6.2%... a beer I would crush at a party or roll with at home, but it lacks some of the depth or dimension of a more flavorful marzen...

Things are progressing nicely with regard to my ongoing and systematic eradication of the Bottle Backlog here at Chez Woody and the results are noticeable, but it becomes incumbent upon me to drink and review new beers as they become available. I refer to this as "chipping", since it is just odds & sods without any overarching theme, such as brewery and/or style.
From the bottle: "People Beer by Beer People"; "Oktoberfest is a time for celebration. A time to honor beer's rich history and to throw back a few good pints with a few great friends. This beer is our tribute to that notion. Two-row Barley and Crystal Malts provide a deep amber color and slightly toasted flavor. And they're finished off with a slight hop bitterness from Bavarian grown Hallertau Tradition and Perle hops, along with Czech Saaz hops. In other words, it's Oktoberfest through anf through. And that's something we'll always drink to."
I Pop!ped the cap & began a gentle pour, in keeping with my New Year's Resolution and my Lenten denial. Aggro pours from bottles are now (mostly) a thing of the past. An in-glass swirl raised two-plus fingers of foamy, rocky, tawny head with moderate retention. Color was a Coppery-Brown (SRM = > 17, < 22) with NE-quality clarity & deep-amber highlights. Nose was both of treacle and a roasted nuttiness that just seemed to evoke Fall. Sigh. That is my favorite season of the year and I kind of let this one escape me in the mélange. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was very malty, more bready than biscuity, with a slight burnt caramel/treacle tang. Mmmm. More interestingly, I also tasted a light milk chocolate presence. It was quite malty, to be sure. Finish was semi-sweet & I hope that I remember to revisit this one come Fall of this year.

Nice color and smell. A bit malty. Good feel. Pretty standard for the style. Not bad at all.

Poured into a mug: color is copper, transparent, head is off white and presents 1/2 inch thick; head dissipates to a ring and laces the glass.
Smell is simple malt and crystal/caramel flavors, a touch of toffee.
Taste is also malty, but then has some fairly hoppy cleanup: malt flavors are light bread, some caramel, touch of light malty fruitiness, some yeast flavors as well; Hops are grassy/earthy bitter and lingering.
Mouthfeel is fairly clean, not too sharply bitter though the flavor presents strongly.
Overall, a nice beer, simple flavors compared to some traditional oktoberfest examples, but good malt and clean fermented flavors. Its missing the depth of the munich and/or vienna malts.

I tried this from the bottle chilled in a goblet.
The color is brilliant amber bordering on copper with great clarity and thick cream with fine bead and lasting retention with lace that sticks. The smell has a malt forward profiled with mild dried fruit and toast aroma with bready quality and nutty odor. The feel has a good malt texture with mild bitterness and gentle sweetness with a balance of sweetness with moderate carbonation and mostly dry finish.
The taste is very good with a solid malt backing and gently sweet nutty flavor that has a toast quality with German yeast apparent in the back adding a mild fruit element to the lager with slight raisin-like taste with gently sweet finish. Overall this is a solid take on the style and enjoyable with a flavorful malt and yeast which pay tribute to traditional German fests

Nice light copper color. First few sips were a little metallic but I warmed up to it. Great carbonation.
