12 oz brown long neck bottle with an A&B “Bottled On” date on the back label. Brewed by Anheuser-Busch in the US.
The head retention is awful, barely a ring of lace. Good clarity, but that is a given. Very pale yellow colour.
Clean aroma, too clean with a hint of cereal grain.
Masterful crispness within a thin malty character, thin bodied and full of light cereal grain flavours. Hops are just another pawn in the game of lackluster flavours. Clean, clean and clean with little flavour to notice and a seltzer water influence.
What would be the politically correct term for this beer? Japanese American Light Crap? Please this beer is horrible, and now it is brewed in the US like that would make any difference other than someone cutting costs to line their pockets.

Had these at an overpriced dinner for the quality with a borderline crazy chick. They had a similarity of appearing light and ditzy. Aroma wasn't offensive, very mild and bland of medicinal corn notes.
Really wasn't much to speak of, lots of water, more bitterness than it should have given the lack of much substance to the beer. Prickly carbonation. Pretty clean overall except the bitterness, must be a decent use of rice to this beer.

Had a 22oz bottle of Kirin Light at happy hour at a local sushi spot. By far the worst beer I've ever had. It tasted like watered down urine. I actually don't mind light beers in most cases. I wasn't expecting much, but the taste, or lack of taste, was offensive. I'd rather drink the world's cheapest Malt Liquor than this swill.
I'm not going to give this "beer" a proper review because it doesn't deserve it.
I'd stay away

Pours a hazy tone on my glass, head minum retention, almost non existent. carbonation low. Taste is a little weak with notable touch of hops. barley not too present. A pleasant light beer. Would prefer this beer over other light beer as coors or miller.
I am not sure if I will try this once again. Too pricey here.

A: An aggressive pour yields a finger and a half of head that seems to be holding down the fort. Moderate lacing is supported along the fortifications.
S: Hay, dilute sugar, low grade pot dominate with little else rounding out the bouquet.
T: Sharp metallic bite mixes with a thin undercurrent of faded floral hop, watered down malt syrup, and dry grass.
M: A prickly carbonation tickles the tongue and gives the beer some feisty character.
D: Only if hard up and dry.

A - Pale, and I mean pale yellow...nearly colorless actually. A small wispy white haze is all that's on top of this beer, and no lacing is to be found.
S - Not much to smell really. A little bit of rice, a little bit of a sour, almost lactic note is there too.
T - Oh God, that's not really very good. I recall enjoying the normal Kirin Ichiban with some sushi, but this falls far short of that respectable brew. There isn't any flavor to be found apart from a mild sourness that reminds me of spoiled milk.
M - Super-thin, super-carbonated, and super-weak.
D - Pretty bad. This is a far cry from the "real" Kirin Ichiban...if you are trying to save calories, eat a little less rice beneath your sashimi and stick with the real stuff.

Pours a crystal clear, very light straw gold body. It's topped by a full, foamy, bright-white head head, but unfortunately it drops almost immediately! It keeps a thin foamy collar but hardly any surface covering, and leaves no lace. The aroma is nice with a softly sweet graininess. Exceptionally clean. The body is light and gently crisp in the mouth - quite appropriate for a light beer. The flavor, however, expresses less character than the nose might lead you to believe. There's just a mild touch of grainy maltiness, and it's much less sweet than might be expected. It doesn't really finish as much as it just ends. In fact, the entire flavor is just like a short dry finish. Disappointing.

Pours a light yellow color into the pint glass with almost no head. Very thin lacing, mouthfeel and palate. Pretty standard light beer. Looks like nothing, smells like nothing and tastes like nothing. Its certainly not offensive but its hard to say its good. Its carbonated water with a dash of alcohol. Not recommended at all...although I wonder how it would go along with sushi...probably not worth trying.

The closest beer I recall that tastes almost exactly like water. Although this may increase its drinkability score, no other positive qualities could be found. Appeared almost like water with a few squeezes of lemon. No head or carbonation. First time I have had a Japanese beer and I hope this will not deter me from trying a few others.

When I took my first taste of this brew, I knew instantly that I was not going to like this one. It poured a small white creamy head with small bubbles. There was fair lacing with this brew. The body was straw yellow in hue. It had a mild malt aroma and it was bitter tasting from start to finish. This brew was light and watery tasting.

They are now importing this beverage into the "beer wasteland" of Oklahoma convenience stores. I don't know if it required watering down or not...probably not, judging from the touted 95 calories and the other reviewers comments. Regardless, here goes:
Pours to large soapy bubbles that dissapear. Color is water and light straw. Aroma is carbonated water, malt, adjunct grains and a weak dose of pungent hops. Taste is mostly carbonated water with a splash of malt, cereal and hops. Bitter finish that sours and turns into a metallic, stomach-acid aftertaste. Probably better suited for pairing with food to mask the aftertaste.

Poured from a brown 22 oz. bottle. Has a very pale yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, a touch of corn. Taste is downright weak, maybe a hint of malt, very water like. Feels light in the mouth and overall was lacking in flavor, even for this style.

A: Poured a clear maize-gold with a frothy white head that started out 2 fingers high and was very active on the surface with tiny eruptions and craters. The head soon diminished to a thin, fizzy covering while retention was moderate and the lacing non-apparent. Visible carbonation was very light.
s: There was a slight skunkiness upon first opening which thankfully was not detected on the actual nose. The aroma had light corn, dried rice and was very light overall.
T: For flavor there was some light dried butter grains with hints of fresh lemons. Overall was hard to judge, but was clean, crisp, refreshing, and faired well considering the style, which is all you can ask.
M: light, a little watery, with a brisk lemon hopping while finishing with a dry hoppiness. For a light beer it actually felt pretty good on the tongue.
D: Drinkability overall was average, per style. Certainly had no problem putting this down and at 95 calories and being a light beer I would ponder to say this is one of the better light beers (with exception of sam adams) that ive tasted, and I could drink a couple of these without hesitation.

Appearance - Pours an absoutely crystal clear straw color with a tight, white head. The head has no retention, leaves no lacing, but the body continues to effervess for quite some time.
Aroma - A corny, sour-mash up front, with a hint of malt sweetness and bittering hops in the background. Aroma of cooked corn to. About what you would expect from an American macro-lager.
Taste - Not much taste at all. Very crisp and refreshing, but so light, there is very little taste. This would be a decent lawn-mower beer, but that's it.
Mouthfeel - Light body. Very crisp and clean. CO2 level is just about perfect for the style.
Drinkability- With the canned corn aroma and severe lack of taste, it's not the most drinkable stuff in the universe. It ain't horrible tho.
