Slightly cloudy golden pour with a very minimal white head. Mild aroma of yeast, peaches and candy sugar. Nice tart peach flavor upfront backed by oak and barnyard funk flavors.

Big thanks to eyebereej for sending this one! Reviewed from long-standing notes. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Cigar City Brewing snifter.

A: Clear gold with just a bit of chill haze. Low visible carbonation and a thin white head that fades quickly.

S: Brett earthy, oak, sweet fruity peaches and lactic tartness. Comes across as fairly dry.

T: Dry Brett funk, peaches, barrel/oak tannins. Some crisp pears, cracker malts. Finishes very, very dry.

M: Light crisp body, with low alcohol presence and a good amount of visible carbonation.

O: Not a ton of saison character in particular, but remains really enjoyable. Very tasty, and I'm impressed by my first offering from these guys.

Palate Contaminants: pesto fifteen minutes before

Appearance is a very opaque brownish copper. Carbonation is fine.

Smell is slightly yeasty and and really peachy. It's sour and sweet in equal portions, and they're fairly strong. I also get a little latex after it warms up.

Taste is far more sour than the smell, but some sweetness is still there (and it is peach, for the record). Tart nectarine and citrus rinds are also present, along with a lactic taste and some undetermined bark. But at least there's nothing that's not a foodstuff or vegetation.

Feel is lightly carbonated, and maybe a bit of a vinegar feel as my mouth draws up.

Consumed: 5.8.16

A: 4.5 Pours a mostly clear, golden-orange. The small, white head dissipates very quickly and leaves no lace in the glass.

S: 4 Nice aromas, but very mild. Some sweet peach and white wine hit first with a small amount of earthy funk in the background. There appears to be some typical saison malt mixed in as well, but again, it’s pretty mild.

T: 4.25 Flavors start off a little sweet with fresh and jammy peach. Lemon, green apple, and white wine come in next with mild tartness and grain. The finish brings more wine and a nice dryness. Overall, still mild, but still nicely balanced.

M: 4.5 Good body and consistent, low-level carbonation.

O: 4.25 This is a nice fruited saison with a bit of tartness. It could use a bit more fruit and funk to make it more interesting, but there’s also something appealing about the brewers’ restraint.

Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass. Vintage 2015.08.10.

Small slow pour yields a very nice body color. Deep orange with nectarine darkness. Fairly opaque, maybe even a bit cloudy. Head creation is a bit fleeting, simple white in color and yields a solid consistent collar. The edges have an excellent orange bright glow.

Very nice aroma. Fruit peaches, slightly smelling a little canned like, but not overly sweet either. It's the dominant smell not much hinting barrel character or saison brett dryness. There does seem to hint of a fuller oak body like aroma coming off which may have settled things down nicely though.

Palate definitely aims for the fruit angle. Peach large mid palate but not excessive, juicy, slightly sweet and even fuzzy. Interesting mouthfeel which hints at real tight carbonation and playful fizz, but has a thicker rounder body. Finish hints at some saison like dryness, but much of the farmhouse funk is not really noticeable. There's an excellent mineral quality to this feel and flavor of the beer, but it enters just a hair into a metallic twinge. Peach angle seems to have been tamed and controlled very well by excessive wood aging nicely, as it's sweetness hints at something a bit large but now in more control.

Not bad, but looking for a little more diversity, but a solid peach content and flavor.

Vintage: 8/10/15.

Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy beige head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Small particles of sediment and peaches are seen floating around in the beer after the pour. Smell is slightly sour with grain, peach, peach juice, acidic, and slight funk aromas. Taste is much the same with sour peach, peach juice, acidic, and slight funk flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with fantastic fresh sour peach qualities that make this one super tasty and easy to drink.
