Bomber at share. Near black pour, spotty beige head, Aroma is pit fruit and toffee, chocolate. Taste adds oaky, woody notes to the oily sweet brew, latent alcohol warmth.

So this is pretty much my favorite beer of all time.
What a nose! Can smell the wood from the barrel it was aged in! Molasses, caramel, port, toffee are all present and accounted for. Definitely some vino and grains in the taste as well!
Very smooth for 10%, but there is a slight alcohol afterburn that goes down your gullet. I would say that this is probably not a textbook example of the Old Ale/Stock Ale but still one of my favorites of all time.

Top notch old ale, nicely balanced trending towards sweet.

Wow. Had to let this one air out a bit. Instant and intense bourbon and oak aroma, accompanied by its dark brown to black, headless appearance. Sweetness dominates the flavor, backed by booze and oak. Thick, syrupy, and rich feel makes for an elongated experience. Overall, good, but not too "old ale" as to what I have experienced. More like a BA Porter or stout, but with even more sweetness. Cheers!

Poured into an improvised snifter, the beer was dark brown in color with no head.
Aroma of dark fruit, vanilla, and bourbon.
The taste followed the nose. Raisins and plums, vanilla, bourbon.
Mostly smooth in the mouth. Alcohol noticeable but not intrusive.

Consumed January 21st, 2016 from an undated bottle. Poured into a Teku glass at 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
The beer pours a very dark brown. A creamy one finger head appears then disappears just as rapidly. The tiniest of crowns is left with no lacing or sheeting to speak of.
Very fragrant beer; vanilla, bourbon and dark, sweet pitted fruits fill the room.
Flavor is much the same, with the addition of a bit of wood barrel character. Low bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly thick. Could have used a little carbonation.
Overall, solid effort, though not a class leading brew.

Pours an almost opaque super dark orange-brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, raisin, port wine, bourbon, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with caramel, toffee, raisin, bourbon, and wood flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of wood bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a fantastic mix of bourbon barrel aged and port wine aromas.
