I made my second adventure to the Bierkeller this week. It is south of Bellvue which is good for me. The have ample parking. It used to be am Amer-Ital club prior to a German restaurant. The inside is quaint with a fireplace and low lighting. I have sit at the bar on each visit. The bar is a work of art. It is a wooden bar etched with brands of various buildings of historic significant to the town and some scenes of military significance. The place has a ski lodge feel to it.
At the bar I did not see any impressive tap handles. The first visit I had Breakfast stout and Cabin Fever. This trip I has to settle for Murphy's Red and Kentucky Bourbon ale. Service was a little slower this time. I only saw one bartender and one server. It was a Monday evening so I guess they don't get a rush. The previous visit was a Saturday and was adequately staffed. Once we did get service, the bartender was very friendly and attentive. He told me that Hopslam was supposed to be tapped that day but the rep failed to show. Otherwise, I would still be there drinking. I ordered jager schnitzel and my date ordered a bratwurst. I thought the meal was good. The pork dish came with German potato salad and sour kraut. I was not impressed with the shepherd's pie the last time. My date enjoyed her bratwurst.
Our meals and two beers totaled just under $40. Which I thought was reasonable. I am not sure how the other reviewer fed three people and had five beers for $30. Overall, I enjoy the place. I hope the beer selection gets better rather than regress. I would be fine with mostly German selections. It's worth a stop if passing through.

My wife and I were there within a week of the grand opening. Service was excellent for being open less then a week. Wife had the ruben on pretzel bread with a side of mashed potatoes. I had the shepherd's pie. Mixture of European foods with a concentration of ethnic German food. Very good on draft menu, closet comparable is Dale's in Sandusky and with here you are not going into downtown Sandusky trying to find a parking spot on the weekend. Would love to see some Stone, Founders, Bells, Brew Kettle, etc., seems the owners will be responsive to people's requests which is always cool. Have been told at some point they will be attempting to brew there own beer, which is great considering closet breweries are in Cleveland and Toledo.
Plenty of parking which is a huge plus in my eyes.
Huge outdoor patio, which was nice for our son to run off some energy after dinner.
Dinner for the wife and I including a chicken fingers for our son, along with 5 beers was around $30 dollars, plus you are supporting a local small business which we need to nowadays.
Would happily come back whenever possible. Great restuarant in a small town trying to do an awesome concept. If driving on the Ohio Turnpike, about 10 minutes off the turnpike and definitely worth a stop.
