This is a full flavored assertive apa. Seconds after popping the top on the can a fresh burst of hops emmenates throrough the air. Pine, grapefruit, some biscuity malt, and a hint of onion.
The "onion" was the first thing I noticed on the taste and before I looked at the hop bill I figured "Summit" was the culprit...and it was....but the nice thing is after that first note it disappeared as the grapefruit, and pine flavors really asserted themselves strongly.
Finishes with an unsweetened grapefruit type of bitterness. Body and carbonation are about perfect. Very well done. Take the Summit out and use Amarillo or Simcoe and I think it would be one of my favorites. As is this is one of the more fuller flavored and assertive apa's around.

A: Small half-finger of white foam that fade somewhat quick. Hazy golden color.
S: Light dankness that has a candied mango, tangerine type aroma and slight onion in the background. Very sweet fruity aroma with a sturdy caramel backbone and maybe some breadiness. Very pleasing.
T: Upfront a burned kind of breadiness. Then fades into a caramel and fruity citrus appears. Then some pine appears and fade. A little different, nice.
M: Nice carbonation, medium body.
O: Really nice pale ale, glad to have tried this one. I would say this was a nice gateway beer into Indeed Brewing.
