A warm day, great friends and a good beer—It doesn’t get any better. In that spirit we present Shenanigans Honey Wheat Ale, our ode to the season. Brewed with Lemondrop hops, clover honey, and white wheat, Shenanigans Honey Wheat Ale has a zesty, citrus aroma, refreshingly dry body and notes of honey. So on those long, hot days, remember: summer is time for Shenanigans.

lord knows i am a lush for sorachi ace hops, so obviously i am a sucker for this beer too. a little too amber though to really showcase them, not that its a red or anything, but i found this one to be a little too malty to really demonstrate the best of this special hop. good head though on a beer too dark for what its trying to be. awesome aroma and taste though, you cant hide this hop, and even a sturdy grain base cant in this brew. lemons and buttercream and just a little earthy aspect to the malt, nice depth, less summery, but still kind of light considering these aspects. thank goodness the hops come through so well in the taste, these hops alone make this a summer beer, and i need no more of them, but its just a little sweet for the end game. its also fortunate that the carbonation is so high, or this would feel even heavier. i think it would be better packaged than on tap, especially where we had it (not going to name drop, but seriously, take care of your lines up there!). i like the hop profile, but as a summer beer, i think this is a bit much in a number of respects. anything with sorachi ace has my heart though...

Golden, slightly hazy. Aggressive pour yielded a fleeting, coarse head followed by a thin. incomplete ring and no carbonation.
Not much aroma - brief coriander leaving faint grassiness and nondescript malt.
Honey oversold. Not a bad pale just not interesting.
Feel is fine - appropriate for the style.
Ok beer but disappointing based on the label. Kind of reminds me of a weak-kneed version of Fullers Honeydew. Not sure it would be that different if they omitted the honey .

Appearance: Pours a bright, golden orange color with a medium cloudiness. A large, yeasty and foamy white head forms on top. (3.75)
Aroma: Mild aroma. Citrus and wheat mostly. A little honey and cracker underneath. (3.75)
Flavor: Flavor follows the nose with really nice and light lemon citrus, mixed with a nice grainy wheat. Some light honey follows to balance the yeast. Finishes dry, but not astringent. Overall, the flavors are well balanced and tame. (4.0)
Feel: Yeasty uprfront. Well-carbonated in the middle and the yeast and honey clean the palate off nicely. (3.75)
Overall: A really well-drinking summer beer. It has everything you want in a summer beer. Nice lemon citrus, wheat, and even some honey that's not overpowering. Captures the best of a blonde ale to give the wheat beer another dimension and some malt power behind it. A great summer beer. (Overall: 3.93)

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high white head that left a thick collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of raw wheat are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of wheat with hints of lemons.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: While this beer is easy to drink, it isn't especially flavorful.
Serving type: can

Enjoyable light summer ale with fruity aroma and pale malt graininess and fruity hopping, lemon, lime and orange with floral notes. Slightly tacky feel. Good light summer ale.

Pours a clear straw/honey golden yellow with a thick white head that recedes quickly but leaves some good lacing. Aroma is a bit muted, biscuits and lemongrass. Flavor is slightly sweet up front with some hop bitterness in the finish. Feel is crisp and clean. Overall a great low ABV beer.

Poured a slightly hazy, golden color with a fizzy, bubbly head of foam. It smelled of wheat, grains and grasses. It tasted of sweet wheat, toasted caramel and some citrus.
