Serving glass: Poured from can into Imperial Pint.

Appearance: Slightly hazy straw-gold with decent stark white head.

Smell: Wheat, lemon, orange and white pepper.

Taste: Nice wheat backbone with some serious zest layers of lemon and spiciness. The honey touch is small but noticeable, and helps to round out the flavor profile. I can't believe that this is only 14 IBUs. While not exactly bitter, the finish is quite sharp from the lemon and spice notes.

Feel: Light and effervescent, but also smooth and creamy, which takes a deft hand. Finish is very dry and crisp.

Overall: For a true American Wheat Ale (e.g. not a wheat IPA), this is about as good as it gets. Refreshing and crisp, drinkable yet complex - this is how to make a great summer beer.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a Sam Adams "Perfect Pint" glass. Canned on 5/15/13.

Appearance: Pours a pale and somewhat hazy golden orange with a lot of rising bubbles. Big four finger white head that holds some decent retention. Leaves a lot of creamy lacing.

Smell: A zesty wheat driven aroma with lots of fruity citrus esters and some spice. Wheat and pale malt upfront with hints of biscuit, cracker, and yeast. Sweet hints of honey. The Sorachi Ace hop scent comes out as well as a big citrus hop presence. Big hints of juicy orange peel and pulp, pineapple, and lemon zest. Also some hints of white peppers and coriander spicing. A very juicy and zesty smell. It literally smells like there is orange juice mixed in here. Very nice.

Taste: Lives up to the good aroma, lots of wheat with zesty citrus fruit notes and some spice. Dry bready wheat and pale malt with notes of biscuit, yeast, and crackers along with some sweet honey taste. Solid hop presence for a wheat ale with good notes of the Sorachi Ace hop. Big citrus fruit notes of oranges and peel along with some pineapple and lemon zest. Some spicy taste as well with notes of white pepper and a little coriander. Zesty and nicely balanced. A very good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Creamy, juicy, and somewhat spicy. Very smooth.

Overall: A really good wheat ale. Good balance of sweetness and dryness with really vibrant citrus taste. A great summer beer.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a clear pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy pale golden with a one finger white foam head that fades slowly and leaves some sticky lacing behind.

Aroma: Sweet wheat and citrus on the nose, with some malts and a little grass underneath. Smells pleasant and welcoming.

Taste: A little hops up front but quickly balanced by the sweet wheat and yeast. A little bit of lemon citrus in the mix as well. A great flavof for a lighter summer wheat beer.

Mouthfeel: Medium body and carbonation. Finishes clean and smooth on the tongue

Overall: A really good summer wheat beer. I like that it has more hops than other lighter wheat beers, and the citrus flavor adds to the summer appeal. This is a great canned beer for summer outings, and tastes great ice cold...so a perfect candidate for big coolers or ice buckets in the summertime. Another winner from Indeed.

Date of 5-22 on sticker. Pours a very hazy yellow color with one finger of head that had good retention before settling to a thin cap. Moderate amount of sticky lacing is left down the glass.

Not much for an aroma. I definitely pick up the wheat malt but little else. Maybe just a little citrus.

A little more interesting flavor. The wheat is very dominant but I also get some citrus and honey. On the sweeter side with a little hop bitterness. Lingering wheat aftertaste.

Decent body for a lighter beer. Good carbonation.

Not a successful beer to Indeed Brewing standards. They set the bar kind of high and this beer does not live up to the rest of the portfolio. This is the kind of APWA that I would expect to have seen 5+ years ago, not today. And not from this brewery that likes its hops. I was expecting something along the lines of Halcyon, Gumbalhead, or 80 Acre. I would not even call this beer refreshing as it is not dry, and has a lingering aftertaste.
