I just really don't think coffee belongs in beers that aren't stouts.

Thanks to Jeff for this one. Indeed is quickly becoming one of my favorites. 750ml foiled and capped bottle into a Founders snifter. Shared with schen9303.
Pours a rich, 1 finger light cream colored head with good retention. Beer is a cloudy dark mahogany. Lacing is stringy and spotty with good stick and oily, thin legs. Decent looking.
Nose is coffee, spice, toffee, molasses and cream. Like an iced espresso.
Opens iced coffee, sweet milk, toffee, cream, nutmeg, cardboard and bark. A little strange. Like an iced coffee but awkwardly spicy and milky. A like it but this is a little out there.
Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth in the mouth and goes down soft and warm. Finishes slightly messy with a clean finish.
A decent beer overall but I really like the chocolate, fudge, and roast complement to coffee... which this lacks. Very unique but I'm not sure I'd revisit this one.

A: A dark coffee black color with slight brown tones.
S: Smelled slightly of coffee but mostly had a roasty malt aroma.
T: Tasted strongly of coffee and roasted malts, like the smell.
M: Had a smooth mouthfeel.
O: a good coffee beer but not my favorite, I would have again and I would recommend.
