This is hands down the best bar I have been to in the area. It has a HUGE amount of beer, rivaling the selection at the Flying Saucer but the prices are better. The massive outdoor beer garden is perfect for any season. In the summer, they have large fans to keep you cool and in the winter, the heaters come out. If you can;t stand the weather, the 100 year old (or whatever it is) house that the bar is set in is perfect to enjoy a quiet drink. The service used to be a little frustrating as the bar was small and this place get spaced, but since they added the outdoor bar even at the busiest times it is easy to get served. If you are in Denton or anywhere close, this place is worth checking out.

Oak St. Draft House & Cocktail Parlor is quickly becoming one of my favorite local hangouts. They always have tons of events that support local organizations and businesses. The owner is nice and approachable and everyone seems to know him. The staff is usually super friendly and very knowledgeable. They have not done any type of renovation to the house which is really cool for us locals. The inside is small and cozy. They also have a small arcade game table with lots of arcade games - it's my husband's favorite spot in the house. I love the huge patio area outside, especially for day events.
The beer selection is huge and the quality is impressive. Like another reviewer said, they don't sell food, but some great local restaurants are just a short walk away, some of them even deliver to you at the Draft House. The owner has built great relationships with other local business owners and food truck owners.
Overall, the atmosphere is great because the patronage is so eclectic, the service is awesome, the beer is damn good and the owner is community minded. Great place!

I cant remember if we've reviewed Oak St...
For starters, Mr. Williams is a fantastic owner. He's always willing to chat about whats coming in soon and beer in general. He knows his beers and has some great connections in the beer community. It shows in Oak St's beer selection.
The staff is superb. They know beer and they are more than willing to help with your selection and even throw a taster your way if you cant decide.
We usually hold meetings at Oak St because everyone can find their beer of choice and its just a lively atmosphere to be in. As for food, Oak St doesnt serve any, but they've made connnections with many of the close restaurants to deliver their's. Its well worth having a beer on the front porch or in back by the Garden Bar.

I believe they currently have 70 brews on tap. 25 Texas brews inside. 25 other quality brews inside. 20 brews outside. They also have other spirits and bottled beer. The prices are very reasonable. The bar itself is an old house. This creates a cool vibe. No smoking inside. Outside, there are the 20 additional taps I mentioned and a large courtyard/patio area with picnic tables and a ping-pong table as well. I am from this town, but I am not giving Oak Street praise because of this. I would recommend checking it out. God blesses good beers!

Oak Street Drafthouse is located in an older house that has been converted into a bar. They have a great selection of taps both inside (around 45 taps) and out (25 or so more) focusing on DFW local, Texas, national favorites (DFH 90, Old Rasputin, and such) and a sprinkling of Belgian beers. The outdoor beer garden is quite sizable with many picnic tables and cable reel tables and reminds me somewhat of Zeitgeist in San Francisco (except that it's 30 degrees warmer). They haven't had table service any of the times I've been there - you line up at the bar to order beer. The bartenders are always friendly and knowledgeable and the prices are the best I've seen in the DFW area for beer this good. They do not serve food.
As much as I enjoy the outdoor area, the indoor area is a bit strange to me. Because it was constructed as a house, it's chopped up into small rooms with older home furnishings such as couches, coffee tables, etc. The condition of these furnishings is in line with your old stuff you might give your kids when they go off to college and then they bring them back after four years of college life. That's probably okay for many of the patrons in this college town but I'll stick to the outside area.
Overall Oak Street is definitely worth checking out if you're in the far north DFW area.
