This store has a decent selection, but a lot of the beer is really outdated. I would not recommend buying unless you see a date on the bottle, or are certain that the beer just came in. Some stuff is literally 2 years old. I mentioned this to the staff and nothing has been pulled from the shelves.

Other than that, a decent store. Beer can be bought by the case, as 4/6 packs or as singles. You can't reserve beer, in my experience, nor can you be certain that new releases will come in just because they carry a certain brewery.

Stopped by here on a tip by oglmcdgl. Monster is in one of many strip malls in NJ so it all looks the same. Easy enough to get to and out of the way from major traffic. A bright yellow neon sign out front. Inside, most of the store is covered in BMC, liquor and wine. Left hand side of the store a huge row dedicated to beer. Mostly domestic craft with some well known Belgians and some German beers as well. As said mostly American craft, well laid out and you may find a gem or two. I found a Weyerbacher (super sour 2010) version after swearing that I missed the boat. Clean store and easy to move around in. I would 'come again' as Apu says.

I used to frequent this place all the time when I lived in Jersey, even before I was a beer enthusiast, and I still go for a visit every once in a while.

Most people would be amazed upon first entering and seeing what is essentially a huge warehouse filled with alcohol. Places like this did help me discover hard-to-find beers, and their micro/craft section has been definitely improving over the years to accommodate the craze. Lots of good local stuff in 6 packs, mostly. Of course tons of macros, and aisles and aisles of wine and liquor, for those interested. This is pretty much the go-to place for a party or get-together whether you're serving good beer or not. Or it's just a good place to get a good beer when you can't find it anywhere else in the region.

Visited this spot on my way home from the jersey shore....

Rock solid collection of micros and imports. Lots of single bottles, bombers, and 750ml. A couple of the heavy hitters were missing such as Canitllion and Fantome but they did have an impressive selection of American micros such as Avery, Smuttynose, Founders, Flying Fish. They also had some Firestone Walker beers which are not imported into my home state. I was able to grab the last bottle of 14. As far as imports go they had Dupont, a few Mikkeller beers, as well as the usual suspects such as St. Bernabus, Orval, Westmalle, etc....

The best part of the store was the customer service i received from Sal the manager. He was able to search the computer for any beers i was interested in and even grabbed me a bottle out of his personal stash in his office.

One of the better bottle shops i have visited...

I've been able to stop by here a few times on my way to Atlantic County and other places in South Jersey.

The folks here are very helpful and nice, and I've met the manager twice and he's been very interested both times in what I thought of the beer selection, the arrangements and display, etc.

Generally they offer a wide range of beers, many of which are not found in PA so I usually opt for those when visiting Jersey. The selection of beers on offer is pretty good and I can always find something to buy that I'm interesting in drinking or sampling (e.g., my first Mikkeler single hop beers were purchased here). This always makes holidays or visits to friends in Jersy more interesting.

The prices are reasonable and in line with what I generaly expect to pay when traveling so the beer I drink in Jersey I always buy in Jersey.

My major complaints here are pretty much the same as those I have about most bottle shops I visit while traveling outside of PA. There are beers I have to pass up because they are not dated and so I can't tell how fresh they are. And I know there's some risk of buying out of code beer here since more than once I've found beer on the shelves that was past its freshness period or right at the very end of it. That said, generally the beer is fresh and reaonably priced.

My wife is a professor at Rowan University so we frequent this place quite often. This is basically a large warehouse liquor store that has a very good selection of craft beer. They carry a lot of renowned brands and offer a nice mix a six deal. They consistently stock a ton of Belgians(not to many sours though), German and other international beers as well as a huge variety of American craft. Plenty of Founders, Bells, Southern Tier, Left Hand, DFH, Victory, Sierra Nevada, Avery, Hoppin Frog, Stone, etc. Every once in a while they get something in from Captain Lawrence which is awesme and they offer six packs, singles, plenty of bombers and a few magnums. If you are in the area I highly recommend it along with Hops and Grapes, another quality craft beer destination in Glassboro.

I was in Chester,PA on Saturday and decided to drive the 30 minutes over to Monster Beverage. It was a great decision. There is an incredible selection of micro's and imports here. There wall of beer took me the better part of an hour to navigate. Many singles are available here, as well as all of the fall seasonals. Staff seemed friendly enough although I was not looking for any help. Prices are fair and the store is easy to navigate. Overall I had a very pleasant experience. I really wish that we had some better beer stores in Lancaster, PA. Note: Do check the freshness dates on the bottles here.

Um... Wow! There's a place in SE Mass, called Yankee Spirits, that I am familiar with and has a comparable selection. However, this one has mead, Duchesse De Bourgogne in 750ml for $9.99, Sam Adams in 22 oz (haven't seen these before?). I coulda done some serious damage, so I got out quick. Service was friendly, layout was bright and easy to navigate, and you can mix-a-six if you like. Next time I visit my in-laws, I'll be saving up for a trip here. If you live nearby, you are very lucky to have this place.

Best selection I have found in South Jersey, and I have been all over. The place looks pretty shabby, but what an outstanding selection of beer, including everything you might want regionally and an eclectic mix of harder to find small operations from New England, which you don't see much if down in the Mid Atlantic. It has an odd assortment of stuff I have never seen from the West (Skyscraper from suburban LA? Breweries from Utah?). It even has a few New Jersey operations I have never seen (big half-gallon jugs of beer from Climax? Never even heard of it). It has a huge wall of imports from all over the world, a really good lineup including an impressive selection of Mikeller. It has a good selection of single 12 oz bottles and lots and lots of 22 oz bottles, including some unusual such as the Flying Dog "open source" beer. Prices are not bad. I didn't talk beer in detail, but the staff seemed quite friendly.

This place beats anything I know of in South Jersey easily and rivals regional standouts like State Line in Maryland.

This place was my #1 choice in beer. They have a huge selection. I have found another liquor store that carries this many selection of beers in my area and with even better service. (West Deptford Joe Canals)

A great selection of my favorites. I leave every time with at least several different beers. They also give you the ability to buy singles to try. It is located in a college town, Rowan University, so if you go on thursdays you'll see the young ones buying their thrity packs of "quality" beer for their own beer tasting. (Natty Ice)

Overall it is a grood place to go for beer. And if you like wine well they got even more of that.

Stopped here today before picking my brother up from school for the weekend (he goes to Rowan).

A very long wall of craft bottles and bombers along the opposite wall from the entrance. Some 4-packs and 6-packs on the top and bottom shelves and intertwined with the bottles. Also a few end caps of singles and six-packs.

Very nice selection, some stuff I haven't been able to find locally. Plenty of american craft as well as german and belgian brews. Prices are what you'd expect, maybe a little cheaper than what I'm used to in PA.

I popped over to Monster the other night because I saw a thread that they had Founders. I was plesantly suprised when I arrived. Most of the store is devoted to booze and wine, but they have an impressive wall of beer. They have a wonderful variety of craft brews and imports. The only complaint I had was the lay out of the beers was a little compact/hard to find. But the staff was very helpful in helping me find every thing I needed. The prices are competive for the area. This store is a little out of the way for me, but I definitely will be back again.

I was back in the area visiting a friend from college (Rowan University), and I wanted to make a visit to my favorite beer store from that fun time in my life. I use to go in and look at their singles selection and try some strange brews as I dabbled in beer drinking.

When I walked in I immediately dart to the back where the beer is. The whole front of the store is mainly wine, with some cases of beer on the wall ushering me to the beer section. Selection was good, but I've seen much better in north Jersey. It had the best selection of the area of the time, but my friend told me I need to visit Hops and Grapes (probably it's only worthy competitor in the area) which is also a great store. I found a couple of things that I had been looking for, so it does have some harder to find items. Prices aren't bad. I grabbed a few items, mainly for that night and I was done.

If you are in the area drop on by. You may be surprised by this college town liquor store. I will probably pop my head in here everytime I'm in the area, to see if they have anything new. It's an hour away from my home, or else I would visit more often.

This beer store is located on the outskirts of Glassboro, a college town, not too far off the Atlantic City Expressway exit for Rt. 322/Berlin Spur.

The selection surprised me. They had $8 bottles of Foret and six packs of Ipswich IPA for 8.99. These are two of the hardest to find beers in SEPA that I really like so I bought both. The craft section for singles and bombers is located in the back to the left, about an aisle and a half with a few end caps thrown in. The rest of the store is wine and BMC. Six packs are located both in coolers along the back wall, or in said aisle. Friendly staff and friendly prices. Belgian and 'cork and cage' high-end bomber selection was especially impressive.

Nice work Monster! My favorite beer store in Southern NJ so far. Plus the town/University area is so beautiful in nice weather, its a nice place to take a drive to, and only 30 minutes away from me. Cheers!

Short and sweet: if you're looking for imports Monster is definitely leagues above any other store I've been to in south Jersey. For domestic micros the selection is generally no better than the other shops that are known for good craft beer selections, such as Canal's (Delran or Marlton), Total Wine (Cherry Hill) or Martins (Mt. Laurel).

They did have some 22 oz. bombers that I haven't seen anywhere else (such as the Rogue Chipotle Ale), but not enough to warrant me driving 35-45 minutes (depending on traffic) to get there. However, if I'm in the mood for some British, German or Belgian imports the ride is most definitely worth it. I was surprised to see a number of Japanese imports, too.

A rather large building has one entire end of the store chock full of beer. It's barely one-third of the store, with wine and liquor obviously engulfing most of the store, but that's normal. Shopping carts were readily available which is nice since the beer section is the opposite side of the cashiers. Anyhow, the beer selection itself is one of the best I've seen in the Mid-Atlantic region. It rivals the selection of The Beer Yard in Wayne, PA, but I can purchase single bottles here at Monster! YES!!! I absolutely despise PA beer purchasing laws. I don't need 24 of the same thing damnit! So on selection alone, this place kicks ass. The quality seems above average, not many old dusty bottles sitting around; looks to be a good rate of turnover here. The six-pack USA micro-brew section is fairly large and satisfying. All of the usual suspects are there. Belgians have a fairly good selection, strong on Pale Ales, Dubbels, and Tripels, but a bit thin on Quadruples and Lambics. Also all of the usual suspects are there for Eastern European lagers, as well as English ales.

Overall, the best selection I have found in the general area around Philly, PA along with the Beer Yard; Monster Beverage is well worth seeking out when in the area.

Well, I finally made it down to Monster Beverage. When I saw the sign I had to laugh! Who drew that anyway? A 5 year old? But I digress. The parking lot was pretty full, but there were still spaces available; and a lot of the traffic was for the Domino's pizza next door. Upon entering I was pleased that they had handbaskets and shopping carts available as the store was quite large. I was impressed with both the beer selection and the wine selection, although the wine prices were slightly high (I found several bottles that I could get at Total Wine & More for a dollar less). The sales staff were somewhat helpful, but not entirely. They are eager though, and they're easy to find when you need one. Overall, it's a pretty nice selection, in a well run store, for a good price. Oh, and it's pretty much your only choice for single bottles of good beer in the area.

I live in PA and was heading down to Cape May for a few days. Everybody know south Jersey is swill terrirotry, so we stopped in Monster on the way down. (Thanks Beerfly!)

This place is HUGE. Of course, like I said, I am from PA. So anytime I see singles for sale I go apeshit. But this place was great! Huge racks, devided by regions. They had a Belgian rack, a German rack, British rack, micro bomber shelves, etc, etc.. I didn't even get to looking at what was in the coolers. My wife was waiting in the car and I could've spent all day in there trying to figure out how NOT to leave broke.

I left with a sixer of Rocheforts (3 6's and 3 8's), a 750 Saison Dupont and the Large size Hitachino Hefe. - Definitely a good roundup for a short vacation. There is just too much to list with what I saw. This place is totally recommended.

The downside is the flourescent lighting and the heavily dusted bottles. The Rochefort 8's that I drank weren't the best I have had and I am wondering if the lighting is suspect.

I have never been to the Delaware shops that are rated highly here on BA, but I have been to the Foodery and other places in my area. This place eclipses them. I will stop here everytime I head to the shore from now on.

Monster Beverage is not on my usual route, tucked away so I didn't even realize it was there. I've been driving to Canal's 5 miles farther away all this time.

This place is aptly named. The variety is enormous, and they have a big refrigerated walk-in beer room stacked high with cases so I'm not tripping over the Bud Light weekend party crowd while I browse my favorites. Let me echo the sentiments of others by saying that I love the fact that their selection of singles is so huge, so I don't get stuck with a six-pack of something I don't like. I pick up a couple newbies every time I go. Their selection of Belgians and Trappists is also excellent.

As someone else implied, the place does have a big dusty warehouse atmosphere, but I don't think it detracts from the experience. While I no longer indulge in tobacco, they have a case of decent cigars as well.

This place makes living in Jersey almost worthwhile...almost.

So I thought I'd check this place out as South Jersey much to my suprise is worse than Florida beer wise. The selection here is pretty good, but not amazing and everything looks a bit dusty and disorganized. Of the 5 or so stores I shopped on my trip I spent the least amount of money here as they had the least worth investing in.

But I searched high and low and this is one of the ONLY places in South Jersey with this kind of selection so if you are in the Glassboro, Wenonah, Depford area it is worth the trip. Decent Belgian selection, good locals selection and decent enough selection of regional Micros.

They've got nearly everything available in this area (Victory, Yards, Stoudt's, Troegs, Dogfish Head, Heavyweight, Weyerbacher, Smuttynose) as well as Belgians (the standard fare plus St. Bernardus and Rochefort), Germans (Ayinger), the bigger micros from the West Coast (Rogue, Sierra Nevada), Unibroue stuff, other imports I can't remember, all available as singles, in six-packs, cases, whatever. First, the sign is kind of cool, with a monster's fingers and claws gripping the sign. It made towing my two sons alone a much more tolerable venture. Young mids are so easily entertained.
It's pretty big, and the beer is all centered toward the back. It's not immaculate, but neither will you likely get the willies while you're shopping.

The selection is the strength here. there's a nice spread of micros available cold, but the biggest asset is the warm beer on the shelves. The Belgians are better covered than at any other South Jersey location I've been to, with everything from Abbaye des Roc to Rochefort 10. Germans and English beers are well represented, with both six and singles available. Also notable are the number of styles on the shelves. It's one of the few places around that has both true Rauchbier and Schwarzbier. And in the singles, I found Xinghu from Brazil, a first for me.
The singles are impressive, with all the expected, and more. Locally, there was a nice range from Flying Fish, Dogfish Head, Heavyweight, Victory, Yards, and Stoudt's. There was 6 or so bombers of various Rogue there, along with sixes and singles from North Coast, Anchor, Sierra Nevada, and more. They're also the first I've found in the area with the SN Summerfest.
Basically, there's something here for every taste and preference, and if you're looking to experiment, the number of singles is very encouraging, and easily the best selection in the region, at least in NJ.
I stuck my head into the walk-in cooler, but at first glance it looked well-dominated by macros, and not likely to carry anything I couldn't get outside in the more mild temperature.

Service was willing, and just able. The two guys I talked to seemed to know the beers based on the blurbs printed on the packaging more than from personal experience. But hey, at least I know they can read and retain some measure of information on the beers.

It's tucked away off Rt. 47, aka Delsea Drive, a little tough to find if you're not familiar, but worth the effort if you're in the area.

It is not a great place for beers by the case. It is a great place to get the micro's you can't find anywhere else. Possibly the best beer store in Southern Jersey (better than Martin's?), this place is an easy find if you look for "Delsea" on Mapquest - the address above is misspelled.

At least dozen or so freezers and multiple islands of shelves with warm beer. American micro selection is extensive, with sixers running the full gamut of every average or better brewery that has distribution in So. NJ. Imports has some fun and different picks like Gale's HSB (can), Abbaye des Rocs, and Julius Echter. Prices are good though most of the beer is left out under the warmth and light. They do have a sizable shelf just for singles that have good prices, though not much better, and nowhere near as large, than The Foodery in Philly. Service was solicitous but speaking moderately ignorant things about beer to the clientele.

A pretty simple place to get a handle on - a good store that needs more freezers.

I recomend to anyone in the Phildalphia area to check this one out, because it is much nicer to buy single bottles then full cases like in PA. I talked with the owner once and he was somewhat ambitious with his selction. He was striving to carry most beers he could get his hands on. While he falls a little short of places like Oak Tree Buy Rite and Somerville Supersaver, this is one of the best that I have found. The selection of belgians is especially large, though it may not even make up half the total selection.
