Poured a quick foaming head of two fingers on a black body.
The aroma is roasted malt; a little thin but fine enough.
The taste is lacking depth. Some roasted malt, a touch of bitterness.
The texture is crisper with moderate carbonation.
The stout lacks depth and breadth. Too crisp a texture. Not satisfying in the least.

The 12 oz bottle poured dark mahogany, looking near black in my snifter. The modest tan head soon reduces to a thin partial coat and a ring that leaves spotty lacing.

The earthy aroma is mostly just from roasted grain, although there is a hint of hops.

Taste: rather simple and mild, with minimal (for style) dark roasted grain but some earthy, peppery, and mildly bitter hops that lead to a fairly good finish and aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: medium-thin body with relatively lively, medium carbonation and a slighly dry finish.

Overall: a mild and simple but acceptable stout that is a bit weak on flavor,

From the 355 ml. bottle stamped 15155BF53. Sampled on December 17, 2013.

It pours a deep brown with ruby red hues glistening in the glass and a short-lived off-white head. Moderate clarity.

The aroma has a nice dark malty sweetness with the sugar enhanced by a brown sugar and/or molasses element and a little bit of baked chocolate.

The body is thin with a slight slickness.

Again, a dark sweet malty taste character at first with a mildly dry and clean finish. It was easy to drink but very much like Guinness Stout overall.

a-poured into frozen tumbler w/ one finger head. not a creamy head as I would expect from a stout. no lacings.

s - weak

t - not a very flavorful beer. gravity is way too low for a stout - seems diluted. Stouts s/b bold and full of flavor that lingers -- this was not

m - not rich like a stout s/b

o - will not buy again.

Bass Stout has a thick, creamy beige head, a very dark brown appearance with some ruby highlights around the edges, and a good amount of lacing left behind. The aroma is of dark-roasted barley malt, brown bread crust, cream, sugar, and malt. Taste is smokey, charcoal, brown bread, bread crust, and some bitterness, but not really hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Bass Stout finishes dry, chalky, and easy drinking. Overall, this is a very nice effort, and I suggest checking it out.

Was served this from a nitro tap at MacGregor's in a pint glass.

Black body with nitro head. artificially induced rings of lacing coat the glass.

no aroma worth mentioning.

mouthfeel; insipid, weak, watery.

taste: not much to talk about, very faint roastiness with faint bitterness.

nitro tap beers are horrible. this feels bad in the mouth and has little flavor to speak of. This is bad beer.

Pours dark brown with some ruby highlights. A thick tan head soon becomes a thin cover, leaving some lacing.

The smell is some chocolate with some dark grain and a hint of roast.

Taste follows the smell. Some sweetness of chocolate leads to a mildly roasted, dry-ish finish.

The body is fairly weak, but holds up enough to stay above being watery.

A simple, basic stout. Could be roastier, and is rather thin. It came in a 6-pack with three of this and three pale ale, with directions on how to make a "black and tan". On it's own, it's decent enough, though nothing special.
