Was served this from a nitro tap at MacGregor's in a pint glass.
Black body with nitro head. artificially induced rings of lacing coat the glass.
no aroma worth mentioning.
mouthfeel; insipid, weak, watery.
taste: not much to talk about, very faint roastiness with faint bitterness.
nitro tap beers are horrible. this feels bad in the mouth and has little flavor to speak of. This is bad beer.

Poured a quick foaming head of two fingers on a black body.
The aroma is roasted malt; a little thin but fine enough.
The taste is lacking depth. Some roasted malt, a touch of bitterness.
The texture is crisper with moderate carbonation.
The stout lacks depth and breadth. Too crisp a texture. Not satisfying in the least.

a-poured into frozen tumbler w/ one finger head. not a creamy head as I would expect from a stout. no lacings.
s - weak
t - not a very flavorful beer. gravity is way too low for a stout - seems diluted. Stouts s/b bold and full of flavor that lingers -- this was not
m - not rich like a stout s/b
o - will not buy again.

Bought as part of a DIY black and tan pack, which I think is actually kinda cool marketing. Regular Bass is among my favorite readily available beers, and the IPA was ok too, so decided to drink one of these before combining them
A - dark dark black on the surface, brown and ruby around lit edges. head builds up but then drops quickly. a small surface head was present throughout the drink as well.
S - not much I can detect, just a general pale ale smell, maybe a very very slight hint of roast
T - a little below stout expectations, even for a more subtle English based style. roastiness and coffee aftertaste is most prevalent, but the taste is somewhat dull compared to what it should be. I feel like little to no stout taste would remain once combined into the black and tan cocktail.
M - just shy of being paper thin, and way too fizzy for a stout
O - could use a little more ass to the actual stout flavor, but by no means an awful beer
