You can't do a straight bar in VA, but this place is about as close as you can get. As mentioned, they serve sandwiched (grilled cheese) and tots. The selection is pretty solid, spanning the styles, including many local(ish) beers. The prices were between reasonable and high, but they offered different serving sizes (3 if I recall right), always appreciated.
We got there when the place was slightly busy (7-8 on a Friday), but it picked up shortly thereafter. The business seemed to come in spurts, which affected service throughout the night.
The food we had was quite good versus expectations. Other plates I saw come out looked solid given the fact they were "just grilled cheese". Given the options in the area, this place doesn't rise above, but it doesn't fall short either. We'll definitely have to hit here again to check out the offerings and perhaps adjust the review.

If you are in the area for a prolonged period of time, this bar is worth a visit.
It shares a small parking lot with other businesses, but there is extra parking in the back.
There is a fair amount of seating, both with bar stools and diner style booths. The atmosphere has a retro, sci-fi theme with old movies playing on a television above the bar. It certainly has a unique character, which sets it apart from the mundane, suburban feel of Falls Church.
The beer selection includes twenty-four taps, presumably rotating, and a cooler full of bottles. There is definitely a wide variety of styles, but I would like to see a more equal representation of sours, wilds, Belgians, etc.
To their credit, they did have two sours on tap, and some in bottles. Sadly, I saw no barrel-aged beers on tap. The bartender had a nominal knowledge of beer, describing his preference for the "malty" beers. The prices ranged widely, depending on quality and rarity of the beer.
It's no Churchkey, nor a destination bar, but it gets the job done for Falls Church, and would appeal to those looking for a really good grilled-cheese sandwich with their craft beer.

Space/robot themed small place. 18 different varieties of grilled cheese, 24 taps. Owned by the same couple that owns Galaxy Hut in Arlington. Kind of small capacity is 75 people. Grilled cheese is made right behind the bar on a flat top, you can add almost everything under the sun to your sandwich. Taps rotated frequently. bottles and cans served. Opens at five.
Great place the owner only plays indie music Take it or leave it no requests. Friendly all be it slightly sluggish service. Only three or four people working at a time, one of which is always manning the flat top. Choose your side of Tots or salad. Sure Mad Fox is right down the street but I'm not made of money, and sometimes all you need after a hard days work is a grilled cheese and a beer.
