on-tap, the yard

I've had bainbridge's DIPA a few time and have enjoyed it - their single IPA is a nice offering, albeit nothing more. The hop profile is actually very nice - there just isnt enough of it for my taste. Orange peel, light notes of tropical fruit and grapefruit. Clean and oily. Looking forward to making a trip across the sound to this brewery on a nice day this spring.

Clear amber color with a long-lasting pile of foam in the Eknbecker Pils glass. Aroma is bright and flowery. There is some malt and a touch of sweetness. Grapefruit peel and long citrus bitterness.

This is the classic Northwest IPA-- glowering and grapefruity. Pencil shavings emerges after some sipping. Clean and quite sippable but a small glass is plenty. It's very bitter, lingering far beyond the aftertaste. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham.

l: amber, couple of fingers of off white head. decent retention, some lacing.
s: smell is tropical fruits and a detection of malt and oats. pineapple, apple, banana and mango are what i am picking up the most of.
t: similar to smell, tropical fruits with a slightly heavier malt and oat presence than most fruity IPAs
f: heavier than the average IPA, due to the maltiness and oatiness..carbonation is average
o: solid IPA, would have it again in a pinch but wouldnt pick it over any of my go-to IPAs. worth a try for sure though.

A: Poured a deep orange color with good carbonation, posting a nice white cap and bubbles, light lacing left behind

S: Orange peel, some grapefruit, a bitter aroma hits the nose as does a very faint tropical fruit punch

T: Immediate light bitterness with some grapefruit, orange peel a bit acidic. The palate picks up a light amount of passion fruit with a constant, underlying bitterness and orange zest. Finsih is rather clean, not oil but rather nice.

M: Medium bodied, well carbonated, the bitterness and citrus cling to the mouth leaving a nice hop forward presence reminding you it is an IPA

O: Good beer that I would drink again. Recommended.
