Props to P49 on making a fresh hop Pils rather than the IPA/PA that is expected. This is a great Pils , fresh, hoppy, clean finish though at a higher than average price and released at the end of October it is not the kind of beer I crave now. I do see this as good harbinger to the day that P49 makes a regular lager ( not a hoppy IPL). Worth buying as this is one the best pils available in BC right now.

Appearance. Pours a clear yellow-gold with a thin white head.

Smell. Light leafy hops and pale malts.

Taste. Leafy, spicy hops and pale malts again. More flavour than the smell eludes to. Some grassy biterness in the finish.

Mouthfeel. Medium body, maybe a bit below. Medium-low carbonation.

Overall. Not too shabs as far as the style goes.

Really happy with the variety of fresh-hopped beers this year in BC. Parallel 49 chose a lager, not surprisingly, as they have a bit of an affinity to proving that lagers can be delicious too!

Appearance: Like a pilsner! Light and bright yellow-gold, 1" of head on a quick pour that fizzled to lacing within a minute or two.

Smell: Pretty reserved... some earthy hops getting through. Honey.

Taste: Less reserved! Honey-cereal, crisp hops presence from the start, and the hops fades much slower than the malts leaving an earthy hops flavour with mild floral and citrus notes. Silky smooth, light malt profile.

Mouthfeel: Crisp, light bodied, but slightly creamy.

Overall: I'm nowhere near a pilsner expert but I quite enjoyed this. Highly drinkable, perhaps not the most complex beer but it doesn't need to be.
