A: Pours a dark ruby brown with minimal head which quickly dissipated leaving a thin rim around the glass with absolutely no lacing. Very reminiscent of a barely wine.

S: Upfront malty sweetness with notes of cherries and chocolate followed by dark dried fruits of plums figs and raisons. Notes of sweet dark honey in the finish.

T: Sweet malts dominate the tongue with notes of dark dried figs, plums and raisons. Dark honey comes through in the middle and finishes with a slight heat from the alcohol which is deceptive at 10%.

M: Medium bodied with little to no carbonation.

O: This was my first brag got which reminded me of a sweeter dessert barleywine. The notes of honey come through and work well with the dark dried fruits. The alcohol presence along with just a touch of hops keep this from becoming too sweet. Definitely worth trying.

A: Deep crimson brown, great red spectrum when held to the light. No cloudiness. Head started at one finger and reduced to a ring. Some stubborn lacing.

S: Lots of sweet, malty fruit. Rum-soaked dates, red licorice, honey coated maraschino cherries.

T: Figs, dates, honey, lots of sweet malt and a bit of oak and earth towards the end. Some gentle heat from the alcohol.

M: Coats the mouth nicely and dries from there. Fine carbonation.

O: This drinks like a sweet barleywine but without the hops presence. Great depth and feel, though the balance leans towards malty sweetness.
