Brewed in collaboration with Dageraad brewing.

Appearance - Pours a cloudy pale straw with two fingers of foamy white head.

Smell - Belgian yeast (clove, spices), spicy hops, hint of citrus, grassy malts.

Taste - Grassy malts followed by the touch of yeast, hops, and citrus. I find this to brew to more dominated by the grassy malts.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Crisp and dry finish.

Overall - A decent saison offering. Would prefer more flavour from the yeast and hops. Excellent mouthfeel.

A very agreeable Saison - one of my favorites in the Brews Brothers pack so far. It is light, spicy, and well suited to spring. It is effervescent in a Schweppes gingerale kind of way. Were this not a special edition brew, I'm sure it would become part of my regular rotation!

House of The Rising Sun Table Saison from Parallel 49 in collaboration with Dageraad Brewing as part of the Brew brothers Collaboration mix pack - This pours a hazy golden colour with a finger thick white head that quickly dissipates leaving a ring around the glass and small island inter dispersed with lots of fine bubbles. The nose brings forward some yeast, caramel malts, spice, grass and earthy hops. The taste brings forward much of the same with the spice and malt stepping forward and the leafy hops finishing it off quite nicely. The mouthfeel is in the medium range with the carbonation giving it a crisp dry finish. I quite enjoyed this beer.

341ml bottle, part of the Brews Brothers mixed pack, and a collaboration with Dageraad, with the name an echo of its French version from yesterday, and still a solid tune.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with three pudgy fingers of puffy, tightly foamy, and somewhat caked bone-white head, which leaves a pleasant vista of layered dripping paint ring lace around the glass as it slowly ebbs away.

It smells of testy, kind of sharply phenolic yeast, mild barnyard funk notes, crisp underripe red apples, soft doughy malt, ethereal leather, and tame leafy, weedy hops. The taste is grainy, bready pale malt, a thankfully softened gritty yeastiness - more musty than funky - muddled drupe fruit, the kind that recedes into their inherent tartness, and plain-Jane leafy, earthy hops.

The carbonation is fairly involved in its frizzy and frothy manifestations, the body medium-light in weight, and not particularly smooth, those bubbles and a lingering tartness not doing this any favours. It finishes quite dry, the yeast, gritty grain, and tart/funk essence ruling the roost.

A decent enough saison, with an alcohol measure that puts it squarely in the table/session category, for sure. Lots of suggestive flavours abounding, and yet a bit challenging to consume, given the effervescence. Anyways - recommendable for fans of the style, who want to indulge, I would imagine.

Really great yeast profile, subtle hints of barnyard funk and tartness, crisp and refreshing... Could drink it all summer.
